Huddly IQ - Travel Kit (Includes IQ Camera and 0.6M USB Cable)

I really wanted to love this camera. I think the Huddly IQ team has done a wonderful job with this camera, for most conference rooms it's going to be great. But for larger conference rooms where you want more direct control of zoom, it just isn't going to replace an optical zoom camera. My space is a large room 20 feet deep and the camera needed to be able to frame and zoom on people across the room, the framing worked great, but the zoom just couldn't create a crisp picture. I also wish you could control the auto framing to make it a tighter or wider zoom framing by default, but you can't do that with things like presets. The lack of preset framing options in zoom was disappointing, though intelligent framing did deliver as promised correctly identifying and reframing as people entered and left the scene.Ultimately I returned the camera, but if I had a a standard conference room, I would have loved to use Huddly IQ. It would be a wonderful solution for a smaller conference room of up to maybe 6 people with them sitting at a table right at the camera.

We have tried 4 or 5 different cameras in our conference rooms. We consult on custom jewelry design via video conference (Zoom in this case). In this process people enter and leave the room over the course of the session. The camera perfectly frames folks as they come and go and also the wide angle lens allows us to sit people very close to the camera and display/tv end of the room thus keeping them in frame - this allows us to use our smaller conference rooms quite nicely. Our understanding is that the camera is software updateable to future features and that is a great advantage too. Perfect picture quality even in our room that has bad lighting, etc...

I ordered this in May, and within the first month the active IQ tracking stopped working. I had other Huddly IQ cameras that worked fine with the same computers I was testing from. I still needed this camera, so I attempted to exchange (not return!) the BROKEN & DEFECTIVE Huddly IQ within 30 days of purchase and all I got back was a credit for $543 (originally paid $849). I'm not sure why I got charged a restocking fee unless this broken camera is going to be sent to another individual who will then also be out $300 and still not have a working camera!BTW- The Huddly IQ is an excellent conference camera, just wish you had a way to get it repair/exchanged/replaced under warranty?!?!

On several laptops camera freezed most of the time after several seconds. This includes a very short original cable. Original cable somewhat increased a chance of working longer than mere seconds. We did not find any usb cable that worked. Once in a while it worked fine with original very short cable and automatic framing was making somewhat questionable framing choices but it worked. Also I am not fun of default picture quality; I expected it much sharper and cleaner. Perhaps software can make it possible to adjust image quality. I would never know because it did not work long enough. Design of this camera is great, but this is about it.
