Chilled
My other ice cube trays had started to leak so I wanted to replace them and seen this set so I couldn’t pass it up. Priced at £10.99 you get 3 trays and a set of tongs. They feel very lightweight and flexible so when moving to freezer ensure you have them secure as you don’t want one side to flop down.I like the design of these with lids to protect from freezer ice and keep the trays from leaking. While they don’t provide a perfect seal they are enough to avoid most spills. It advises not to overfill for ease of removing. On my first attempt I probably put more in than was required which meant it was all together in one lump at top. But this is where these type of trays excel, a slight bend and the ice cracked easily so I could remove each piece individually. After this a light press and the ice was released and ready to chill my awaiting gin. Finally I’m able to add a good measure of ice to keep my drink cool with these trays.Could also be used for fruit purée, stock etc. They are BPA free to which is good.To make getting the ice out even easier leave tray for a few minutes to melt slightly.

Note these trays don't make the larger type ice cubes...
I had imagined this set of 3 Phyles Lidded Ice Cube Trays would be larger than they actually are. A couple of the online pics make the trays appear bigger than they are in real life. And the description says they 'can be used as a muffin or cake pan'. I think this would be unlikely as the cakes would measure only 2.5cm square. The reference to using the trays for this purpose suggested they may make the same size ice cubes as my present silicone trays which are a little larger at 3.5cm.That said, the silicone appears durable and the hard plastic lids fit the bases well enough but the ice cubes these will make are the standard sized sort, not the larger type that will last longer in cold drinks. Though I was keen to have the benefit of the lids as it's hard not to spill water out of my current ice cube trays, the bigger ice cubes are actually better to use in my view for both drinks and freezing food items. So it's a case of going back to my old ice cube trays. As all the measurements are clearly stated online, my fault I fear. The items themselves are perfectly good - and may be exactly what you're looking for.

They came with an awful smell
I really dislike using plastic bags to make my ice cubes and I find water goes everywhere with normal trays, therefore I thought getting these with the lids would be far more helpful. The sectioned walls are surprisingly strong and sturdy for silicone, so I don't think I'll have too much of a problem with water spilling. Due to this I found the sections easy to fill as it held the water. The lids lightly clip on and into place, holding well enough. This worked for when I walked from the sink in the kitchen to the freezer in the utility room, having no spillages at all.Unfortunately, the trays have an awful smell, so I did put them in for a good soak before use, which didn't get rid of it. Also, if there's not a completely flat surface in the freezer, a slight slant didn't cause any problems. Once the cubes had frozen, with an easy twist, they popped loose and were fine to get out. Luckily, after being in the freezer, there was no odd taste to them and the smell had gone. Getting the lid back on wasn't that easy though as some of the ice cubes were no longer sitting flat in their sections, but with a bit of wiggling, I got there.

The ice comes out so easily
I absolutely love these ice cube trays by PHYLES. I received 3x silicone trays, each with a lid. Each tray holds 24 ice cubes. The lids don't attach but it makes carrying the filled tray so much easier and I'm now able to stack them in my freezer. The ice falls out so easily when needed, you hardly need to push underneath. The ice cubes aren't overly big but they do take a long time to melt. I have another silicone tray that makes bigger cubes and it's so hard to push the cubes out, I much prefer these trays. It also comes with a small tong, I don't think I'll use it but it's handy for when making cocktails etc.The trays are easy to clean after each use and can also go in the dishwasher if you have one. Great price and quality. We go through a lot of ice so these are really handy, may purchase more when the weather gets nicer and we do bbqs.

Brill for making wax melts!
PHYLES Ice Cube Tray, 3 Packs Ice Tray with Lid, Easy Release/Dishwasher Safe/BPA-Free Silicone Ice Tray, Best for Cooling Drinks, Baby Purees, Whiskey and Cocktails. These are really good and perfect quality!I recieved a 3 pack of ice cube trays, a total of 72 cavaties, they come with Lids and tongues. They are versatile and can be used for many things, most obvious is ice Cubes but I'm using them to make my own fragranced wax melts for my own use......... They are very easy to use for Wax melt Making, when the wax melts have gone hard they are so easy just to pop out as they are made of silicone which makes them flexible, my melts made in these were a success, each cube is just the right size to put in my burner.I'm impressed by these and can reccomend them, the price is reasonable too for such quality.

Good, colourful set of trays
The trays are soft, as silicon should be, so it is really easy to remove the contents once they have frozen be it ice or small portions of baby food, sauce or herbs. We are using ours for garlic butter and herb seasoned butter; each square is the perfect amount for adding flavour to any dish. The lid prevents leakage when you are transferring a tray to the fridge/freezer, and avoids any cross-contamination.There is a pair of tongs in the same lime-green colour as one of the trays. The bright colours help you to see the trays easily.) Each tray has a hook on one side; I’m not sure why you would need this. The trays and tongs are easy to wash,Good price, good quality and really useful with the summer months coming up - ice whenever you need it.
