These seemed to do a good job of going through some thick steel. It took a while but much better than even titanium bits. I like this set alot but after using it I couldn't put the drill bits back because my drill chuck caused a bump on the drill bit and the tolerance on the holes is pretty tight. So the case is barely useful to me right now. Overall though a good purchase

I used them on cast iron train wheels, went through no problem.

Either they sent me the wrong bits or these just don't work. I've tried drilling through a 1mm stainless steel sheet now for 5 to 10 minutes and they haven't made a scratch?

A superb set of real HSS cobalt twist drills. No silly titanium coating nonsense, these drills are solid cobalt alloy all the way through. They’re precision sharpened and delivered in a sturdy steel box that opens to present them in a tidy rack. I’ve already used them on a lathe to drill 316 stainless steel bar, which they cut with ease and came out as sharp as they went in.

Great selection of bits, shame that the 1mm drill bit was missing but not worth returning as there is a 1.1mm bit.
