The instructions were very easy to follow, you just need to read the instructions and take your time, don't rush. Pay attention to the nuts and bolts you are using. There are videos on YouTube that you can follow, but there is more detail in the booklet. There are times when I was following the instructions and I realized I had to turn the page to actually see more detail. You can use ratchets as well. I did this by myself and did not have to have two people. I leveraged a chair for assistance when connecting the backboard. It is very sturdy, and the price is great. It does incline and decline.

This is just a basic light duty goal that is easy to install and gives you something that works for not too much money. It is a little wobbly and the backboard is quite small, but it is fine for practice, and a good choice for kids who might want the goal lower. It is full height but adjustable. It took me about 1.5 hours to install, and I did not find it complicated or difficult using only the included direction, and basic hand tools. It is very easy to move around before the base is filled, but there is not really anyway to drain the base after you fill it so I do not know how you would move it afterward. It seemed to me that something else really sturdy and closer to full size would cost about 3-4 times as much and that was way outside my budget. I am happy I purchased this and enjoy using it.

My 11-year-old son just recently started to enjoy the game of basketball so I decided to purchase this for him for his 5th-grade graduation present. Amazon had installation available and I jumped on it because I knew I would regret even attempting to put this together. The installation man came and it took him approximately two hours to put together. He was wonderful and helped to make sure we understood everything and how to fill it with water, etc. Things to know. This basketball hoop is humungous! I don't know why I didn't think it was this big, but I didn't think it was this big. I live in a neighborhood where we have an HOA, so I knew leaving it out on my driveway would not be an option. This was way too tall to fit in the garage. The reasons for 4 stars is, I wish this had the ability to lower the pole. I assumed due to the "wheels" to roll it, and the description utilizing the word PORTABLE, that it was portable. Where you could take this to besides one end of the driveway, is beyond me, as it is incredibly tall. So I do believe the word "portable" in the description is deceiving. By the time I had this setup, I regretted this purchase just due to the fact I didn't know what I was going to do with it. I didn't want to hear my neighbors, as most of them would prefer to live in an adult only neighborhood. My driveway is on a hill, so the driveway wasn't an option. I leave this at the end of the driveway on the street because it needs to be on a flat surface. At the end of the night, I lower it down on my shoulders, and my son and I roll it into the garage and lay it on its side. The base is filled with water, but fortunately, it has not leaked which shocked me. I am in no way complaining about this because I do not want my garage flooded. As far as the hoop itself? The kids in the neighborhood actually love it and it seems to be really sturdy. If I had a flat driveway and my home wasn't in an HOA community, this would be perfect. Just a warning, if you're looking to put this away after use, it will be a challenge. I mean, it doesn't take long to put away, less than a few minutes, but it's heavy and annoying and takes up a ton of space as it has to lay on my garage floor. Thank god I have a 2 car garage, and only one car in the garage. Again, the biggest thing to take away with this is it is NOT really portable. Maybe they should design the base to lower and lock in when you would like to raise it. This would actually make the hoop portable. If you're not planning on keeping it outside, I would suggest something else.

I like this hoop! I just put it together yesterday and we have been playing with it every chance we get. Kids are staying outside longer and we are too (someone has to challenge them!) :) Hated putting it together, vague instructions in places where it needed more clarity. The YouTube videos greatly helped but in some cases skipped over parts you wanted more detail. I did most of it myself, but took enough arm strength with the tools I used that the last steps, my husband and I had to do together. It took me at least three hours, crazy when it’s a simple looking thing. Still, it’s a sturdy thing and working great!

We bought this for my son for his 15th birthday. Upon arrival he immediately got it out and assembled it himself. We were missing one tool to finish the job but a neighbor came to the rescue and was able to save the day. He has been outside several times a week over the last year to use this with his friends and it was worth every penny. I would recommend laying it down if inclement weather is coming. Thankfully it’s easy to roll and move around as needed. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. Anything to get the kids out and away from video games and phones is a win for me! He even enjoys going outside and playing a game of Horse with me, which is even more important.

Hard to assemble, no. Pain in the a$$, a little. (so many different size bolts, bring the whole tool box) But its a nice setup for the money. Good sturdy hoop. Easy to adjust the height. Looks nice. Backboard is a little loud when hit but I also throw up some bricks so...I'd buy again.

This is a great basketball hoop. The price was right and it serves our family purposes well. It went together easily (for the most part) and is certainly sturdy enough for our purposes. The backboard is not real solid so you won't get a true rebound, but do I care?? No. It's fun, durable and inexpensive (relatively, for something this size). Great Product!

Was a pain, at first, because me and my helper didn't pay enough attention when putting the pole sections together. (Two of them look very similar, but it is very important to get in right order.) Anyway, problem arised when the two wrong pole sections were stuck together. After many failed attempts (over an hour), I found some helpful advice; take the stuck together poles and drop, at a slight angle, from about shoulder/head distance onto concrete. Might take a few times, but it actually works. Oil, just regular pulling apart, hammer, or any other idea you have to get them apart, will not work without damaging the poles. Seriously, drop at an angle, from shoulder height on to concrete. They will come apart! Other than that, and the time it takes to put together, this basketball hoop has been great and sturdy.

Sturdy, well-made. My grandchildren, 6 and 9, love it and so do the adults in the family. Leave plenty of time to assemble it.
