Black gnats be gone!
I purchased this product to help get ride of black gnats in my house plants. I made a steeped blend to spray on my plants and to spray the soil. Has a slight smell but is not overwhelming. Instructions for use are clear. Did the job nicely.

Mosquito Killer That is Safe for Wild Animals, Pets, and Edible Plants
I have a fountain that isn't always turned on, and I wanted to do my part to ensure that the fountain wasn't supporting the breeding of mosquitos. These are perfect as they are not harmful to animals that may take a sip from the fountain, and can also be placed in plant saucers to control mosquito populations. In the summer, plant saucers may hold a bit of water to sustain plants when temperatures rise. I wanted to make sure that in doing so, I wouldn't be creating an environment where mosquitos could breed so I added these to the saucers. These little pellets are so easy to use, just spread them around where you may have potential mosquitos breeding. The 2 pack was an excellent deal. One note: this is technically a bug killer so the packaging does have include some required cautionary language. Common sense: avoid inhaling particle dust from the pellets, don't touch your face after handling the pellets, and wash your hands after use. Nothing scary about it...just be smart about it.

Kills Mosquitoes
Great product for killing mosquito larvae and therefore mosquitoes. I spread them around wherever there is standing water. Small bowls, water basins, puddles, and any place water stands for more than a few minutes. The product is made of ground corn cob and a bacillus that kills only Mosquito larvae it is not toxic to anything else.

Exactly What I Needed to Eliminate Fungus Gnats
3-5-20I'm reviewing the Summit Mosquito Bits in the 60 oz containers. I bought 2 at one time, since I've had great results with the dunking donuts.I live just below the New England states, on the Atlantic coast. Even though I have some frigid winters, I have been growing plants which are considered tropical and must be over wintered indoors. This brings (or it could bring) pest issues, since the plants are outside throughout the growing season. What I have learned to do is, the last month before I need to bring them indoors, I breakup a dunking donut and crumble it around the base of the plants in the pots. I also take 1 donut and throw it in a watering can (2 gal size), fill it up with water and let it sit for a day or two. I stir it up and water the plants with this (only the ones coming indoors, such as my bananas, meyer lemon, key lime, etc.) and continue to do this until a week or 2 before coming in. It's easier to transport the plants if they are somewhat dried out... less heavy and messy. This does keep the majority of my winter pest free, however, this winter has been the most mild I can remember, and the room in which they are kept has been warmer than other winters. It's never had to be heated, & this winter has been downright hot some days. I believe this promoted some gnats to awaken or maybe find their way inside. I check on my plants often, so as soon as I saw 4 or 5 fungus gnats hanging around, I checked to see if there was a crumble form of the product I use. I try to avoid chemicals whenever possible. This seems to be the most non harsh form of keeping pests at bay.I ordered the 2 jugs, and applied the crumble immediately. I tried to cover the soil of the pots with a thin layer, and so far, not 1 single gnat since. One of the downsides of the container -not the product- is the cap and the way the holes are cut. I don't think they are big enough. I tried to shake the container in various positions, but it was hard to get the product to shake out.Come to think of it, one more downside... but not a deal breaker for me... I see that the crumble will mold if a particular spot of soil stays too wet. My plants are quite healthy, so some mold on the soil doesn't seem to affect them at all. There is no scent... whether dry or wet or moldy. So far, I'd recommend this product for at least the method I have been using it for.I bought this from the seller "Monster Pets" but fulfilled by Amazon, which I feel is important to list this info. I've come across sellers with variances in their items, including knockoffs, even if listed as same brand. I'll post an update with a durability review.7-5-21 *UPDATE*I've used over this passed winter as well. I truly love the results, at least with the fungus gnats. 1 plant had an issue with ants.... 🤬 grrr. This wasn't good enough to keep them affecting that one plant, so I resorted to spraying them down any time I saw them with an organic bug spray, which is peppermint based. Great bug spray which non toxic and smells awesome. It's called "Not nice to bugs" and I believe the website I get it from is the same. Been using it for at least 10 yrs. They have some other good products too. With that said..... back to Mosquito Bits.I still find this as a brilliant resolve to most of my pest issue, or at least my main one, for my overwinter tropical plants. I now have to order 2 more jugs. This was good for 2 yrs, and for about 6 or 7 plants. 4 or 5 of them are 2 gallon pots, the other 2 are significantly bigger maybe 16-20in?

Works great!
It works! I put a couple of tbs into a canning jar with warm water and let sit for half an hour, strained and poured on potting soil surface. Dramatic change in a day and after second application there is no activity on the sticky traps. I will continue to use regularly as a preventative. The potting soil was infested with gnats so it wasn't just a few.

great for indoor bugs in plants
I had a huge problems with fungus gnats in my indoor plants. A little sand on top of the soil and this product on top of the sand. Killed all gnats. It must be the water that dissolves into the soil and all I know is they (gnats) are gone and never have returned.

Smells a bit funny but it works for gnats in plants
I use this in the water to water my plants with to control fungus gnats. Worked for a little bit then they came back.

I have repurchased multiple times!
Mosquito Bits are the real MVP of my summer. I was skeptical at first — how could these little corn-looking pellets do anything against the mosquito army in my yard and indoor plants? But WOW. Within days, I noticed a huge drop in those annoying little fungus gnats buzzing around my houseplants, and my outdoor containers stopped being breeding grounds.I just sprinkle a few bits in the soil or toss them in standing water (like birdbaths or rain barrels) and forget about it. No harsh chemicals, no weird smells, just peace and silence. And the best part? They’re safe around pets and plants. My cat still investigates every pot like a jungle explorer, and my plants have never been happier. If you’re tired of slapping your own face every five minutes or seeing tiny bugs hover over your plants like they pay rent, do yourself a favor and grab some Mosquito Bits. Total game-changer.
