Alteril Sleep Aid - 60 Count

This is the only sleep aid I will use. It has a long track record of helping people fall asleep without drugs and sleep through the middle-of-the-night waking moments, and in the morning you just feel normal and well-rested. Easy to swallow, virtually no flavor. I like both versions (fast-acting and regular), and use one or the other depending on what I need.

Everything else I've tried like all of the PM pain medicine, melatonin in any form, zquil just gave me 3 or 4 hours of heavy sleep. For 3 days in a row I finally got 6 to 8 hours of solid sleep and don't need naps all day. I wake up less groggy. The only side effect has been weird dreams. Sometimes I have to take 3 pills but 2 usually does it within a half hour or so.

I found this to be more effective for falling asleep than the Valerian Root I had been taking. But I will note that the effect seem to last about 4 to 41/2 hours. It may not be the fault of the Alteril as I have had trouble getting past the 41/2 hour mark regardless. Initially I took one half dose to test it out, but the full dose was much more effective. So my opinion is that it is definitely worth trying out. Four and a half hours is better than none!

Alteril has helped me. It doesn't work miracles... it isn't perfect. But I do sleep better when I use it. In the past, it took me hours to fall asleep, and then if I woke up in the middle of the night, another half hour to 40 minutes would go by before I could fall back to sleep. With Alteril, I'm asleep within about a half hour of going to bed, and if I wake up in the middle of the night, it's only for a few minutes. I do tend to have more weird and unusual dreams while taking Alteril. I haven't done a lot of research, but I do know that Alteril contains Melatonin, and when I took Melatonin tablets previously, I was having continuous vivid dreams. The dreams with Alteril aren't as vivid, and I'm guessing that's because there isn't as much Melatonin in it as there is in the Melatonin tablets.

This sleep aid didn’t work for me. After I took 1/2 dose I felt very heavy all night and didn’t sleep very well.

I’ve had bad insomnia, taken meds in past. This works great, no side effects!

These are amazing, I have recommended them to all my family and friends that have trouble falling asleep. I searched these pills out because I have a negative reaction to most sleep aids, anxious nightmares, etc. I have none of these problems with Alteril. It helps me fall asleep easily and get good rest, but I can still wake up easily in the middle of the night if one of my kids needs me. So happy I found these!

Worked well in the beginning. I like they have tryptophan and melatonin. It stopped working after a while. However I know everyone is different and it may work for someone else
