Adore Creative Image Hair Color #106 Mahogany AD

I've been wanting to make the switch to vegan hair color for a while. I'm 50-ish and want to have a natural color to my hair and have been having trouble trying to find a vegan hair dye that isn't magenta or sky blue. I decided to try this Mahogany color from Adore.As this is my first vegan hair dye, I didn't know what to expect. I have very thick, curly, waist-long hair. I purchased 4 bottles not knowing how much it would take to color my hair. Turns out, it took 2 bottles. So I am ready for next time!Mahogany is the color of Hershey's syrup coming from bottle. It looks like dark dark chocolate and has the consistency of being like Hershey's syrup, too. It is easy to apply. I read a few blogs about using ADORE and found that it is suggested that you leave it on 4 hours or even overnight for the richest color. So after applying, I wrapped sections in plastic wrap and then wrapped my entire head in plastic wrap and put one of those turban towel thingies on my head. I cooked. I watched tv. I did the 4 hours and then showered.I immediately noticed that, unlike the chemical-containing box colors I normally use, my hair did not feel like straw when I was rinsing it out. I also noticed that there wasn't a big handful of hair at the bottom of my shower either. Two points for ADORE. I applied my normal conditioner and kept it on for the remainder of my shower, then rinsed it out.My hair takes forever to dry so I didn't really see what the color was until the next morning. It is a very pretty brown color with red undertones. In the light it is much more red. It looks natural. And because it was so easy to apply, I don't have weird patches or areas that didn't get colored. And my grey is covered, too!Since I've not washed my hair yet, I can't say how much color will come out, but right now, I am happy. And my hair doesn't smell like chemicals!So here's the thing... I love this hair color so much, now I WANT to use the fun colors. I am not sure if my boss approves or not, but before I cut my hair and donate it again, I think I need some indigo ends!

I have used semi-permanent before, so not a novice. Tried this hoping it would be easier/better. Unfortunately this stuff has no staying power. Usually, I see a change by week 2, this was on day 2!

My hair was in a really bad place. It was over processed (brown to blonde) so it was dry, dull and really damaged. I got tired of the blonde and wanted to go back to a darker color but I tried to dye it with a boxed dye and my hair didn't take to the color because of the damage. I did a ton of research and found this dye and read that it also has no damaging chemical agents in it so I figured I'd give it a try and I am so happy I did. It's highly pigmented so I could see my hair soaking it up and knew it would work in dying my hair darker. I mixed mahogany with mocha to get a reddish brown color which turned out quite lovely! I left it in for about an hour and washed it out, when it was dry my hair was so shiny and healthy looking I couldn't believe it. I haven't seen shine in my hair in months so i am truly pleased with this dye. It's a dye that you don't need to mix with anything else you just pour it on right out of the bottle though i do recommend getting an applicator bottle instead of using the bottle it comes in. You will need gloves too since it's so pigmented it can stain surfaces and skin if you aren't careful. I didn't have any staining issues myself though thankfully. The dye smells nice too which is weird lol. I did wash my hair like it said to (without conditioner , only shampoo) but I let it air dry completely before applying whereas the bottle says to apply it on towel dried hair and the color spread nicely and came out really rich. I have shoulder length hair and used 1 bottle of dye (albeit I mixed a full bottle of mocha with a quarter of the mahogony for a diff color effect) but 1 bottle is MORE than enough. 2 if you insist but the best part about having left over is you can touch it up any time you want and I put some in with conditioner after I shower to refresh the color. It works! This is great stuff.

I love this stuff. Everyone raves about my color and it doesn't dry or damage my hair as I mix it with conditioner and use it in the shower a couple of times a week to keep my color fresh. It has lasted using this method with no roots. I simply let it sit on my head while shaving my legs and then rinse until the water is clear. My color stays on point with all greys covered and no roots. It's the perfect method for me.

Easy to use and freshen up colour without using harsh chemicals. Last few washes and easy to top up colour
