A durable map of Iceland
Does what it says, a durable map of Iceland. Not enough detail to show hiking routes but shows all roads and a decent number of attractions and campsites. With Iceland it's best to research things beforehand, for instance certain campsites and roads close in the winter. Also wild camping and hiking are strictly forbidden so find and stick to proper hiking trails and campsites. So do your research and then mark it on the map yourself! Most things tend to be well signposted. Also keep up to date with the weather forecast - some roads, even the main road, may be closed in bad weather. My personal advice would be to hire a car or camper van as public transport is expensive and not too regular, especially in winter.Have fun!

Misleading/dated
Two substantial errors on this map. It’s either poorly notated or very dated. On the East coast, the main No.1 ring road is shown going inland at Breiđdalsvík. It is in fact the 95, a partially unmade narrow road high into the mountains with scary hairpin bends and steep ascents/descents. We could see from that it was partly unmade, but thinking it was the main No.1 gave us a false sense of security and the unmade section much longer than depicted.

Out of Date
Whilst this map is clear and easy to use for a driving tour of Iceland, be warned that the 'Revised Regularly' on the front isn't true. There a lot of new roads missing, like the 85 from Husavik to Þorshavn is all tarmac and takes a different route, but there are also lots of relatively old roads that have changed, like the 61 between Holmavik and Borgarnes, which is now tarmac and follows the route of the 605 to the 60. This was done in 2009. Also the new Dettifoss tarmac road from 2011 isn't on here. Good quality print and finish, but don't also take the content at face value.

Great map for a roadtrip in iceland!
We purchased this for a 3 week long roadtrip around Iceland. It got used a lot and battered around and we found it very sturdy - it did not rip just simply bounced back into shape! It provided great detail for the main roads and we found it particularly useful how (unlike other maps) it details the condition of the road - a lot of roads in Iceland are gravel tracks the most extreme of which you can only use 4 wheel drive vehicles on!We did use it in conjunction with a sat nav app and also a lonely planet guide, as some parts of the map are slightly outdated, or as we found at one occasion there was a new quicker road available that was not marked on the map. In addition to that we found a lot of petrol stations that weren't marked on the map.Overall this is a great map that was essential for our roadtrip - we would have struggled without it! Don't try and rely on the free maps the car rental places will give you because they are as much use as a chocolate fireguard!

Great Map
I bought this as a second map to use for a 12 day road trip around Iceland. This map is much better than the other road map I had. This is more useful 1:460000 and very easy to navigate when on the trip.... and the type and style of the tourist destinations was clear to read. I really recommend this map for a big road trip ( and I'm seriously fussy with my maps!). Quick and easy delivery. Highly recommended
