**Q: Does this filter out bacteria and viruses? O.5 micron should be enough for bacteria, but the description does not mention bacteria or virus**
A: That's a interesting question if you are getting your water from a well or other ground water sources you may need an additional filtration system consult your local dept of water or dept of health

**Q: does it filter out fluoride?**
A: At 0.5 microns, it should filter out close to 95% of fluoride and chlorine.

**Q: This product says it removes various heavy metals but says nothing about removing the heavy metal lead. Does it remove lead?**

I bought this filter thinking about its ease of installation. However, I did not realise that there was no spare part available in the UK. The seller on Amazon has not responded to my question and as a result, the filter is rather worthless. I would not have spent this money on a system that cannot be maintained without going to great expense to import a filter from the US and pay the hight importation taxes and postage charges. It is a bit like buying a cheap printer and then finding you have to fork out huge amounts in ink. I wish I had done better research about maintenance and not just compared products. Happy with it as a filter in itself but not with the end result! Buyer beware.
