At Napa Valley Naturals our artisan handcrafted Grand Reserve Balsamic Vinegar is an extraordinary condiment that has been aging for up to 18 years. This dark, syrupy, sweet, yet lightly acidic vinegar is the culmination of a centuries old Italian aging process. Its complex flavors and intense aroma evolve from wine grape must, concentrated, fermented and matured in a series of cherry wood casks, making it ideal for enhancing salads, tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese. You can use a few drops to finish roasted poultry and game, or to produce a reduction glaze for delicately flavored fish dishes. After dinner, drizzle it over your favorite fruit, cheese or even ice cream. It's 100% natural and pressed in very limited quantities from fresh, handpicked, vine-ripened Trebbiano grapes. Get it before it's gone.

Not cherry wood aged!
The image depicts that this is cherry wood aged, but it is oak wood aged. Not a huge problem, but it does have a different taste, and it was not the item that I thought I was ordering.

If you are looking for the Cherry Wood don't order this. You will receive the Oak wood.
I disliked the fact that the picture indicated one type of balsamic vinegar and I received another. I had to return it.

Really good!
I've never been to Italy or had ~*real*~ balsamic vinegar before, so I don't know what is what on the authenticity front. I do know that this tastes AWESOME. It's very thick, mild, and sweet. It doesn't have much of a vinegar kick. You could get away with eating it from a spoon. Texture is similar to molasses. Rich flavor. Actually gave away bottles as Christmas presents, one for each household :) My favorite way to eat it is with boiled beets, onions, and arugula with salt and pepper. Let the onions have a good long soak in the dressing before adding the greens. Yum.

Not quite the aged version
The earlier version which was aged up to 15 years (and said so on the label) was a bit better. This one looks the same (except for the 15 year note on the label) and maybe represents a takeover by another firm. Still, very good on salads, etc. We bought a case.G

Very fulfilling and exciting ... yes ... It makes me Happy!
Napa Valley Naturals Grand Reserve Balsamic Vinegar:Best Balsamic Vinegar I have EVER tasted!I can't rave enough about this Vinegar.Thick, dark, sweet, tangy, smooth, mild, extremely aromatic, clingy!I smell it and I want to drink it!I feel like I have visited an Italian vineyard every time I eat it.It's heavy bodied with a beautiful rich, black-burgundy color. It tastes like delicious wine; like popping a fresh wild grape into my mouth.I put it in a small side dish with a mild olive oil ... then I dip my hand held arugula or bread into it and just sigh.Half the joy is just smelling this liquid.I feel slightly tipsy after my little vinegar dish is empty.I think joy can do that to a person!Wonderful as an appetizer served with bread and cheese.$$$ Half the price my favorite health-food store charges! What a bargain!!Perfect for gift-giving! Wedding, anniversary, house warming, hostess gift.BTW, don't put it ON your beautiful salad greens ... always dip into it. Yum!7/18/2013 Update: Just got a new case of this stuff. Yeah!

I use it on everything -- especially salads and roasted veggies.
Absolutely the most delicious product. You will need all 12 bottles!!! I have given several bottles away as gifts and tell the receiver -- please taste it and give it back to me if you don't like it! No one has returned one! I use on vegetables -- often, like brussel sprouts, I dislike. When roasting veggies using this stuff, it's like eating candy -- not veggies! Totally recommend!

You wouldn't know this is made in the USA
This is excellent on salads, asparagus and more. I am extremely picky and only like 18 year old balsamic vinegar. This product is fantastic, and I bought an entire case of it.

Our favorite by far
For us this is the best balsamic bar none. We love it on salads and hors d'oeuvres. Our 12 yo eats salad every day with this. A tad on the sweet side and seems to go especially well with goat cheese and mozzarella. We ordered a case knowing none will be wasted and saved a lot on shipping.
