Yummy: A History of Desserts (A Graphic Novel)

This graphic comic style book is amazing! The illustrations are colorful, fresh, unique and fun! The facts and information are interesting and worldly. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I hope this author continues to publish books, my children both adore her first published work!

I'm completely blown away by this book.The illustrations are enchanting and beautiful, the characters are goofy and fun, and the dives into the backgrounds of our favorite treats taught me so much about foods we just sort of take for granted.From cakes and cookies, to ice cream and gummies, this book explores the rich and tasty history of the origins, names, and evolutions of desserts, answering questions like:"Are apple pies as American as... uh.. apple pie?""What exactly does each ingredient in a chocolate chip cookie do?""Why are red velvet cakes red, anyway?"And of course, scattered throughout like sprinkles on an ice cream sundae, are some of the most fun and illustrative recipes to try out for yourself and experience the magical delicious world we live in.Kudos to author and illustrator Victoria Grace Elliot for one of the most wonderful and unique books I've ever put my hands on.

Delightful in every way. One of the cutest books ever created, no exaggeration. Incredibly fun and informative. 10/10

This book was not only visually pleasing, but educational and funny as well! I love the awareness of cultural influences mentioned throughout as well. Would love to see more some day!

Gonna buy 2 more when I can cuz it was so cute I gifted one to a little cousin, but I have a niece I want to gift one to and I want to keep one for myself like I had originally intended lol
