Q: How do you make it stick to the tub?

The mat has large suction cups on the bottom. It sticks and stays in place well.

Q: is this for textured floor?

We have a textured shower base which for some reason has become slippery. This mat will move around when being used. I took it on vacation and the shower floor was a stone-like material. It performed much better there. However, you can move it while standing on it (unlike the old suction cup mats that you had to pry up). I would not recommend it as a "non-slip" tub/shower mat.

Q: soft, comfortable to lie on?

I didn’t find this mat comfortable, they main reason that it doesn’t grip the tub. Therefore when in the tub part of your body is on the mat and the other isn’t. We don’t use it while showering because it could slip causing a fall. We have tried to pushing down on mat to get it to grip but it doesn’t work.
