I have used both a 395nm flashlight and 395nm LED floodlight, and they react to both. **Q: Would this be enough to paint designs on a ceiling? Say a galaxy or something** A: Total of 3ozs of paint. Not a lot really. However on their own I'd say you could paint maybe a square yard of designs at most a yard and a half. However if used strictly to add UV highlights to see under black light in the dark to a painting. Could creat a beautiful Muriel. Alternatively if ceiling smooth and white you could buy same size pots (3oz of paints) that are all whitish in regular light and coloured under black light creating an invisible picture. **Q: when not in uv light does it change back to white? will it turn color outside in the sun?** A: Actually although this is a UV Re-Active paint, it does NOT fluoresce under sunlight. It only reacts with UV Black Light, and it reverts back to its original state when the UV is turned off. Although the pigment in the medium is white, the thinner you apply the paint the more translucent it is. Therefore if you paint over other colors you will still see that deign under the UV Invisible paint when dry. I had this idea for my Work-In-Progress painting. I used these overtop my Acrylic painting to create a night scene under a blacklight! And I did it all on livestream!These UV paints blew away my supporters, and working with them was incredibly fun.My only gripe is the orange color isn't usable. The pigments are so diluted, and didn't bind properly, so they are clumpy.The other colors work well, though. I tested them on black paper before using them.Yellow dries the most opaque-white, but shines brilliantly under UV. Only use it in places you don't mind looking white under normal light.You'll need to layer it on, because it's thin, especially the red.Hiding details invisible in white light was the most fun thing! I had a blast with these, and still have plenty left for the next project!Even without the orange, the paints were still worth the purchase. The others make up for where the orange color lacks! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic for Fun Black Light Painting *by on Reviewed in the United States December 13, 2014* I bought these for a color-based art project. I decided to make an artwork which looks completely white (i.e. "empty") under normal light but then you turn on the black light and see the actual image. These worked perfectly!Under white light there is NO sign of color. The image looks completely white. I added some black letters (with normal black marker) on top of the image so at least the canvas looks like there is something there. That's all an initial viewer sees - a white canvas with a few black letters on it.Turn on the black light and voila! You can see the full image. It's quite neat.Highly recommended for anybody who wants a plain white look with regular lights and then wants the full power of black light paint under black light.I'll note that these are acrylic paints so they are just like all other acrylic paints - wet when wet, and then dry-and-crunchy when dry. You wouldn't use these for things like body painting or fabric.I've loaded up an example image to show the comparison. Almost moussey ( probably not a real word) rather than typical paint consistency.
