New Nordic Gardens: Scandinavian Landscape Design

At last! This new book on Nordic gardens is something I've been waiting for years - an inspirational design book with new ideas that I hope will become a staple across Northern European design offices. Cleverly divided into themes and with some beautiful photography I've found page after page of ideas to aspire too especially in the detail but also in construction. This book opens up contemporary Nordic garden design to the world.

This book is authentic and inspiring and deserves a prominent place on the coffee table or on the bookshelf! It's rich content with a wide spectra of inspiring images. I find it a descriptive yet elegant book that makes me understand new Scandinavian garden design. Would recommend to buy yourself or as a gift.

Fantastic excursion to the world of Scandinavian garden design. English is not my mother tongue but the text seems to be not very refreshing. However I bought it because of ideas and photographs which are excellent.

Amazing book and stunning photographs.The book is beautifully written and plenty of great and inspirational design ideas.I definitely recommend it!

Beautiful designs, solid photography, inspiring read!

This is a remarkable book and, in my opinion, a MUST for every architect's office, landscape gardener's den and indeed anyone who aspires to planning a garden or landscape with modern, clean lines complemented by beautiful and durable plantings and structures. Written by Annika Zetterman, an up-and-coming ambitious young Swedish landscape gardener, who herself has contributed many of the photographs and not a few of the designs, the book is lavishly furnished with 291 full colour Illustrations gathered into a number of very practical themes: such as Scandinavian* design values; playing with light; principle of plant selection; using colour palettes; seasonal opportunities; environmentally urban landscape; stimulating spaces for living in; and my favourite - "durability meets elegance".* Take no notice of the reviewer who complained about the use of the word Scandinavian to include the Nordic countries. He obviously missed the explanatory note in bold type on page 10.*

This book is not only elegant it is also one of my go-to books for design inspiration.It showcases some of the most fascinating gardens & landscapes of the Nordics, while also cleverly giving a new perspective on design and how important light is to Nordic gardens.I couldn't recommend this book enough and I'm looking forward to new publications in the future.

Apart from the unwarranted misnomer of Scandinavian and Scandinavia to include Finland and Finish people (a Swedish habit) the book is well written, concise, filled with good descriptions of landscaping approaches, designs, and implementation. Decent photography.
