The beeswax coating is not only beautiful but incredibly practical—it saved me the time and hassle of painting, and it's holding up noticeably better than the painted hive sitting right next to it. All parts were included, and the pre-cut dovetail joints and pre-drilled holes made everything fit tightly and securely. First of all, this heavy box was delivered in great shape. Box looked ragged and a corner drop but parts were perfect. Frame assembly went great and fast with titebond III and 1/4 in staple in 1" length. The included nails would have taken twice the time, if not longer. Boxes went together like a breeze and the included screws went in nicely with one left over. Everything is perfect with no splits or damage. I'm so extremely impressed with BeeCastle! They even included a stainless steel mouse guard which was not on the parts list as an unexpected gift. With the $20 coupon at checkout this has been an incredible purchase. I'll definitely have to support BeeCastle in the future! This is my first hive and more to come. Highly Recommend BeeCastle 5+1 Stars.

I was nervous about this hive due to the price point listed. I have to say, I am more than pleased with the quality and the workmanship. BeeCastle went above and beyond! Quality wood, dovetail cuts are perfect, beeswax coating everywhere! Very easy to assemble. Just make sure you set aside a few hours to put all the frames together if you don't have a frame jig. I can't wait to move the girls into their new castle!

The assembly process was easy. The hive is good quality. I'll be interested in seeing how it holds up.

I purchase two different kits of this style from two different vendors for the purpose to compare them each other. The hive and components look to be pretty solid. Plenty of wax on the boxes and parts. The inter cover was not notched for a top entrance so I will have to notch that myself. The joints are solid and the assembly was very easy and the wax made the seams seal up very well. The one draw back I found for both the kits was the shipping boxes. The carboard box was barely strong enough to hold all the components in the box. The shipping box should be a heavy box because the shippers are not gentle with these boxes and they had wholes punched into them. They might want to consider strapping the boxes also because when I open the box it just fell apart. I ended up with missing parts and having one of the med boxes being broken. Which they promptly replaced by their customer service reps.

I've ordered 5 so far 3 were damaged in shipping but beecastle is very responsive and sends out replacement parts. Make sure to check your email if ordering through Amazon for their response. The box was about 60 lbs and I think that the delivery people drop it because it's so heavy cracking the wood or damaging the corners. However that being said the wax coated beehive is amazing and the quality of the wood, the fit of the sides and coating are all far superior to the one that is not coated. I highly recommend getting the beeswax coated hives. They are beautiful

Item arrived on time. Package was damaged upon delivery. After a full inspection of components, a bag of nails was missing and one of the Super boards was damaged. I contacted BeeCastle with the information and sent some pictures of the damage. I wish all companies stood behind their products like this. They refunded a portion for the nails and are sending a replacement board right away, all taken care of within two days! Great service! Aside from that, assembly was an easy and fun project with my daughter. I used a Brad Nailer instead of the missing nails (which was much faster and easier anyway) along with wood glue on all of the frame joints. Everything fit together nice and tight and the prewaxed frames are fantastic. I can't wait for spring to get started. I will be purchasing a second Hive from BeeCastle shortly. Very happy with the product and thrilled with the service?

I haven't put my bees in but it will be great for the nuc I ordered. I love how it went together, fairly easy and the material feels heavy duty And bonus it looks beautiful! All pieces were in box, the box it arrived in came pretty beat up.
