This makes a cool hobby. The still worked perfectly for your own stash. It's priced reasonably and works well.

Works for all of the things that it claims.

This is a good starter still to figure out if you want to pursue this hobby further. That said, there are some inefficiencies with the design and construction. The tubing is held together with gas fittings and silicone gaskets, if you over tighten they will split and leak. If you overheat them they will degrade and leak. The thumper and condenser are undersized for the volume of the boiler but will work. The boiler seal will leak, I've been able to fix this with office document clips around the lid in addition to the 4 clamps. The flex pipe will crack eventually from the stress of bending, this can be replaced with commonly found flex pipe from any hardware store. My solution and recommendation would be to bore out the lid of the thumper for 1/2 inch copper pipe flare fittings and solder them to the lid and convert the flex pipe to solid copper pipe. I also recommend expanding the condenser for efficiency purposes as trying to maintain a cool to cold temp on the smaller pot is doable but a challenge.Overall this will do what it is advertised to do, but will leak and require repair or modifications to remain operational.
