Rain Water Diverter DIY Kit for Round Downspouts

Just installed, in the rain, and it seems to be working. It only catches a small portion of the rain during our torrential rains here in Louisiana.It was fairly easy to install, once I figured out the directions. Unfortunately, the directions were printed in the smallest typeface I've ever seen. I had to pull a magnifying glass out to see them where the print quality got poor, and I have absolutely perfect vision as of my recent visit to the eye doctor. Additionally, the directions were for a square downspout, and were very specific about this fact: "the downspout must be a 2” x 3” or 3” x 4” rectangular type."This is not the case. My kit was, in fact, for a round downspout. After some searching on the website RainBarrelParts.com I was able to find pdf directions (still only for a rectangular downspout) that were easier to read. I also saw images at the website to show that the installation is basically the same for round downspouts, with the only difference being the shape of the Flexifit diverter that goes inside the downspout. But I was hesitant to begin the installation, including cutting holes in my barrel and downspout, before I was 100% confident that I had everything I needed.In the end it worked out fine, but some clearer directions would have made the whole process a lot easier.

I bought through amazon to save a few bucks on shipping vs the company website. This diverter works well, is very innovative and a more "plug and play" approach to adding a rain barrel. Bottom line: I will probably order from this company again.Some notes, though: The diverter rubber gasket is not the best seal. I used silicone caulk to fix that, seems to work well now. Also, the hole saws they include have fairly large teeth, so cutting through metal (I have a round 4") is not the easiest. I would suggest purchasing a separate hole saw for the gutter hole.

The kit didn't exactly fit the rain water barrel that I have, and the spout piece falls out easily. Other than that, all pieces were shipped and does the job.

This downspout diverter was so easy to install. I am a female that is not that handy and I installed it by myself. It works like a charm. I have zero complaints. When my rain barrel is full the water diverts down the downspout. Highly recommended!!!

I was really excited when we got a rain barrel, but then I discovered how hard it is to connect it to a round downspout (which we have). This kit was easy to install and it works great (no leaks, no overflows, etc.)

I would of Rated this higher but the hole saw bent and had to use my own and no instruction included
