Will it safely remove self-adhesive stamps from paper?

I've used this lift fluid for 2 or 3 yrs now. Has worked fine on envelopes. Stamps on corrugated cardboard take some extra work. There are some known self adhesive stamps that give problems. My stamp software notes these various stamps to leave on paper. Otherwise has worked great for me. Brush it on the back of the paper the stamp is adhered to and the stamp will release from the paper. If not, brush on a little more to back of envelope paper and it will release. This is not intended to be a soaking fluid the way you would soak gummed stamps in warm water. A cap full of this fluid allows me to release many stamps. I'll blot the stamp and place it into a drying book. From there to a stock book until the stamps are mounted in an album. I've not noticed any issues with these stamps over the few years I've been using this fluid. Hope that helps.

Will it remove older hinges from stamps without discoloring or damaging said stamps?

The solution will remove old hinges and the chances of discoloring a stamp are minuscule.

How this product actually works? How should I apply the liquid? and where?

the product does work but do not expect perfect results. Put the fluid on the back of the paper the stamp is stuck on. Thicker paper may require an extra application. About 30 seconds later the stamp should start coming off the paper such as an album page. You may have to help the stamp off the paper or apply a second application. You should expect the gum to be disturbed.
