Missouri River9" Iron Skillet with Folding Handle

Like the folding handle and the diameter. Easy to pack, and much lighter than cast iron.

Pan is stamped 'India' on back and comes with some kind of protective coating on it . . needs to be scrubbed-off really well in hot water/detergent. I measured 1.5mm/16 gauge, minimum thicknessnecessary to cook and not burn meal. Handle sits completely inside pan, then folds-out to horizontalwhich I prefer. Handle gets hot, need potholder to use. I will extend handle by 3.5" w/ removable doweling for carry. Pan sits flat, difficult to get a nice even blackened seasoning; after nine attemptsgetting close. I like pan, have cooked eggs, thin steak w/ peppers. It will work for travel/camping.

Got this for camping, love carbon steel which is essentially what this is. Great on campfire and fun to find the right stick to play with it to fit in handle. Take care of it as you would cast iron and you’ll have a natural nonstick surface that’ll last you for long long time. UPDATE Fried eggs today, they slide out of the pan. Happy camper here.
