I'm only a couple of applications it really lightened my roots and blended them in with the rest of the hair! I think it helped that my hair is naturally some kind of blonde and I did go in the sun. The difference is subtle enough that it could have been my imagination. Afterward, I spent a day in the sun and then my hair was MUCH lighter (about a full shade). So, I believe the answer is sun bum does not react to blow drying as well as Sun-In, but it does work very well in the sun.
