So fun, priced right and easy to use!
This is so neat! We recently adopted a puppy and we wanted to know what we adopted! Our Vet recommended this because it is a fraction of the cost of what they will charge. It appears to be accurate! And the information they provide is fun, informative and interesting! If you want to upgrade you can get more information! We are very pleased!

Very Interesting!
I'm 63 years old and have had dogs as pets in the home since I was born. Mostly Heinz 57 mutts that were dumped in the country, and we took them in. We recently had a dog dumped on us, and this is the 1st time I ever really wanted to know what kind of dog we had. This was because of his ice blue eyes, long back legs, and many unique behaviors. We discovered that this dog is a mix of 26 different breeds. Although we can see traits from some of the other breeds, the 7% Treeing Walker Coonhound is what we see the most of. We love this large unique puppy, and now we have some answers for all the people who are constantly asking us questions about his looks and behaviors. Wisdom's website is very user friendly. We have shown the DNA results to a couple of people that were so impressed, they said they were going to buy Wisdom DNA tests for their pets.

Recommended by my vet, easy to use
We adopted our puppy from a rescue organization that had no idea what breed mix she was. Everyone had their guesses so we decided to buy a doggie DNA test. Our vet recommended this brand and another one for most accurate results. Instructions are incredibly easy and the swab process was quick. Just send the swabs back in their prepackaged mailer. Canโt wait to get our results in a few weeks and see if we were close on breed guesses. Iโll update after we get them back to see if the price is worth the results! Purely based on ease of use, Iโd recommend. *Update* we got the results and are thrilled! While they werenโt exactly what we were expecting (surprise!), they make complete sense with her size and looks. Iโm confident the results are accurate. It helps us know what type of exercise she likes/needs and how to manage her diet/exercise going forward. Iโm so happy we bought this! Still 100% recommend.

Easy to use, detailed report provided
I read the reviews of several of these types of products and this one had many positive reviews. After buying it and using it, I can see why. The process was simple, the company kept me informed through the whole process, and the results were amazing, very detailed. From what we can tell by the appearance of our dog, the results are also accurate. What we thought were the main breeds in our mixed-breed shelter adopted pet, were pretty much spot on.

Great product, but a bit pricey
This product gave an excellent breakdown of our mutt's lineage, showing his possible lineage on both sides and revealed information I could not have possibly guessed, but that makes perfect sense now that I see it. This is meant to find purebred genetic markers in a dog's lineage going back 3 generations. The service also gives you an indication of what breed group your dog's unidentified markers seem to fit (herder, toy, terrier, Asian, etc.), so that you can get a pretty solid picture of what your dogs lineage is like. You may not know all of their specific breeds past those purebred markers, but you will at least know what kinds of dogs fill in those gaps. I was definitely satisfied with the results and with the product and service as a whole. It was simple and easy and the results came relatively quickly. My only complaint is that the cost is a bit too high. I bought this while it was on sale, and it was at a reasonable price, but at full price, I'm not sure I can recommend that this product is worth buying if you're only curious about your mutt. It may be worth full price if your dogs lineage is in question for reasons of certification or if you are curious as to potential genetic related health issues (which costs a bit extra), but this is, after all, the top dna test on the market, and at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.

Mr. Grizzly
My dog of 11.5 years just recently passed away of stomach cancer. We rescued him at about 9 months old from a family friend. The entire time we had him, we never fully knew his breed. We assumed it was mostly German shepherd mixed with others. When we found out he was sick, we ordered this kit because we needed to know before we lost him. The kit arrived same day and we immediately did the swabbing and mailed in the kit all in the same day. Living in Southern California, the kit arrived back to its destination 48 hours after we shipped it. Unfortunately our dog passed before we received the final results. The kit was easy to use and easy to ship back. You create an account and Wisdom Panel notifies you when the results are ready. I specifically chose this brand based off the reviews, pricing and ability to get same day delivery. I would consider using this kit again for my next dog in the future.

The Tail (see what I did there?) of Shelby's Ancestry...
Shelby is our (now) two year old rescue dog. After a rough go the first couple of months with illnesses, I am happy to report that she is wonderfully healthy and happy and we all obviously love having her around. At the time of her rescue we were told that she was a Lab / German Shepard mix; that conclusion presumably being reached solely by looking at her and her litter-mates. Although she looks phenotypically black lab, some of her litter-mates had that German Shepard brown, so I was always curious as to Shelby's true lineage. As an aside, while I believe most of the folks who run shelters for pet rescues have the best of intentions for the animals and their futures, their goal is to get these pets adopted so they will often tell prospective adopters whatever they think the adopters want to hear in order to have them adopt a pet...in actuality very little can be truly known about these animals. That is not meant to discourage rescues because it is a very noble thing to do, but part of the reason I bought Wisdom Panel was to attempt to corroborate what we were told about our dog with what she looks like and how she behaves with some scientific documentation. Here goes. First off, the test is very simple to do, two cheek swabs are all that is needed and once completed you package them and send them to Wisdom Panel's laboratory for processing. A registration number comes with each test which allows you to set up an online profile for your dog and that profile is the place to which the progress and results of your dog's test are uploaded. For Shelby's test, it took about three weeks from when I mailed in the sample to when the results were ready. While I was initially underwhelmed with the "50% mixed breeds" result, a deeper look into the report helped fill in the blanks of just what "mixed breed" represented. That term is what Wisdom Panel attributes to genetic data which was present in our dog's DNA profile but which came from greater than three generations back. The additional data provided by Wisdom Panel helps you to narrow down just what those mixed breeds represent as even the mixed breed results contain genetic markers suggestive of certain breeds. We knew the Lab part, and the mixed breed part suggests that she is has a lot more lab in her from previous generations, but the 12.5% American Bulldog and 12.5% Chow Chow were big surprises to us. Overall, this test was a worthwhile purchase because it helped us learn a bit more about our dog. In addition to fun curiosity, I felt there was a value in knowing our dog's genetic profile because now we can be certain of things we thought we knew and have also learned some of what we, prior to the results, had no clue about. More in the sense of what to expect behaviorally, health wise, and life expectancy wise based on her unique genetic makeup. I attached a screenshot of Shelby's results and her profile picture which came directly from the information page of Wisdom Panel. In addition to that information, the results contain a percentage breakdown and breed family tree for the analyzed dog.

Very hard to contact
Donโt buy if you are in Australia, they donโt service here. They are also impossible to contact for issues, took half a year before I got to someone, who then let me know that our efforts to post to the US were wasted as the sample was nowhere to be found, and that they donโt do this for our area. Not sure if US people or areas have a better experience but this one was not good for us. The two stars is just cause they eventually did give us our money back after much running around and emails.

Very pleased with Wisdom Panel
We are so happy with this product. It shipped and made it to us very quickly. The directions were easy to follow although our puppy didn't enjoy it very much. The longest part was waiting for the sample to reach the laboratory (~10 days) and we got the results in less than two weeks from that!! Quicker than expected. We adopted a rescue puppy and were unsure of her breeds. The shelter said husky mix but she looks shepherd/lab. The test showed that she was all three and two more that were surprising (jindo and Lhasa apso). It was really fun reading the report and gave us good insight into what she will grow into as she is still a little 3 month old. Thanks Wisdom Panel!!

Arrived quickly, now waiting for results
Shipping back to the lab took a bit of time, but the company is very communicative and clear about every stage of analysis. Can't wait to see the results!

Removed my doubts about Mambo's ancestry
Mambo was sold as a caboodle, but he looks nothing like a poodle. He is also far too big (22kg) to be a cavoodle. Wisdom Panel results came back showing that Mambo is 37.5 Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, 25% Golden Retriever, 12.5% Labrador Retriever, 12.5% Poodle and 12.5% Shih Tzu. (No picture and no information about Mambo given.) The fact that poodle was in Mambo's genes finally justified why he was tagged as a cavoodle. The strong retriever component also made sense in view of his built. Now everytime someone asks what breed is Mambo, I can give a definitive answer. Really cool product, thank you! =D

This test is accurate. Pleased :)
I was a little hesitant at first to buy this test. But I am glad I did. Turns out my rescue dog (MAX) is a 'Jackapoo". He is half min poodle & half jack russel terrier. When I got Max I did see his litter mate (sister) and a Jackapoo breed makes sense when I think back to her + Max. I have had Max for 4 years and never knew his true breed. I figured he was a poodle mix. I don't care what his breed is, I love him regardless. But it was super cool to find out what he really is. And also to find out why his legs are so long, why he can jump super high & why he has a terrier face / triangle ears & so on. 100% recommend. Do this. Its worth it. Results took about 2 weeks.
