Apply a self adhesive metal disk to any device and slap it on the stand - it stays.The magnet on the stand (red item) is very strong and can be moved around on the orb to accommodate any viewing angle. I also have a version of this in my car. They've adapted the magnetic mounting system for ProClip car mounts. It is also effective. I use the system with a phone, a 4x7 tablet and a 6x8 tablet - all work great. I've never encountered any issues with the magnetic field affecting the devices.Pay attention to disk sizes. iOmount is in the process of switching over to a larger diameter disk and magnet. ProClip was selling the smaller version. I purchased a separate larger magnet and disk set from iOmount to correct this. (they may have since resolved this issue).
