Mainly for its historic place in hoodoo history. When it was first published it was certainly one of a kind and very informative. It isn't a big book of recipes but does have just enough to be useful. Review: Perfect repro of a 1936 classic - Legends of Incense, Herb, and Oil Magic treated me to a gentle morning spent stepping back to 1930s occultism. With fascinating tidbits, odd illustrations, and a "world overview of magic" vibe, this book introduced its original readers to the use of early commercial conjure preparations. Well edited and a step up from the 1966 reprint, make sure to read the editor's afterword on the mystery of author Lewis de Claremont.
