Very very unusual
I'm from the same town as the author, and it's great to read about a valleys town being remembered with such fondness. My father and aunt knew him well. My aunt introduced him to acting and even gets a mention in the book, so I was really predisposed to like this.Where it loses a star for me is the writing style which I found really bizarre. Mr Spinetti was such a humorous raconteur which makes the somewhat disjointed writing style quite unusual. Don't know if this is down to the collaboration with Peter Rankin, how much of the text is Spinetti's and how much Rankin's? Again, it seems unusual for such an eloquent man to need assistance in writing a book. All said, great memories of growing up in the Valleys and wonderful stories of such a heady era.

Buy this book.
One of the best book I've ever read. Vic was a superb raconteur, with some amazing stories, and I'll read this book again and again.
