The power modules require a slightly wider breadboard, but they send you breadboards that fit perfectly. Plenty of room for your micro/mini development board and shields. Adjustable voltage via jumper pins, power LED and on/off switch. Small enough to keep in a drawer or on the bench and very handy. ### ⭐ Buyer beware *by W***I on December 17, 2022* This is a “get what you paid for / caveat emptor” lesson.Both circuit boards had several bent pins. I was able to straighten them but that always makes me a bit nervous. The pins were likely bent before they went into the box the kit arrived in. Build quality is not impressive, through hole components are not straight or aligned well to the pcb. QC labels and paper statements of these things is just words, not proof it was inspected. The solder quality is just barely ok, not great. Some of the solder blobs (ugh) look sketchy, none of the solder points were bright with clean fillets. Scratches through the solder mask on one circuit board, wonder why? I’m guessing mass produced haphazard handling environment. No documentation, so either trust your intuition or find other examples / schematics of similar products to be more certain. You’ll have to decide for yourself if the USB connector is useable as an input or an output. I’ve decided I just won’t use it, as the output power budget of this board is so low anyway. For what it’s worth, I will never ever connect this to the USB port of anything expensive like a computer, laptop, hub, etc. Here’s why: After more research I’ve discovered that the design of these is prone to scenarios where if certain failures occur the input voltage can get passed right through to the outputs which can destroy your prototypes by over voltage. So I’ll be modding mine to prevent this catastrophic scenario, but that’s extra parts and work and still no panacea. Might as well use a better power supply to begin with?The breadboards are meh, they are small and not high end. After testing the two I got I’ve decided to not use them, as I found intermittent contacts in both. I hate wasting time tracing down and fighting with bad intermittent contacts during prototyping.The jumper wires are a nice assortment but are just like any others you can find online.The 9v 1a wall wart and the splitter cable are handy and the build quality looks fine from the cosmetic outside. I am not a fan of the big block format that takes up more space than the AC socket footprint. This one is probably going into the bin with so many other wall warts I really don’t need, but I’ll use the splitter cable.So overall this is a convenient assortment of questionable quality stuff if you want to challenge your tolerance for risk, learn how to troubleshoot problems, and test your patience. I should have done more shopping around to up the quality.Would not recommend. ### ⭐⭐ Worked great after a bit of forcing, then power button started failing *by J***F on January 26, 2023* When I first got it, I had an issue with inserting into a standard breadboard. I measured the spacing between the breadboard's and the power adapter, the power adapter's pins were ~.05 inch closer than than they should have been. After a bit of forcing I was able to get it in (slightly bending the pins) but it would easily come in and out on any of my boards.After using for 2 weeks, the latch on the power button started to fail. It will intermittently fail to latch in the on position, only delivering power if I hodl it down.
