Leaves, what a joke. Perhaps if there are some leaves on a twig you want to turn to chips.

The design needs a few more iterations. I'm studying it to see how it could be improved.

Bought this to deal with the many small branches that litter our yard on a regular basis, and it works exactly as advertised. I love the collection bin, because it allows me to easily put the chips on my garden for mulch.

works best for saplings up to 1.5 inches and palm frawns. not so good with leafe derbis. would be nice if the motor was bigger and had a lager throat.. over all I love it.

I must give the Aavix AGT308 chipper 2 ratings. The first is the performance of the machine itself which I will rate at 3 1/2 stars. For most branches, dry or damp, this chipper will eat up easily. I loved the bin below, which makes it easy to chip and empty. It didn't do mulberry branches due to the stringiness of the bark which didn’t chip, but wrapped around the blade in long lengths. This required undoing eight screws (some hard to reach) to cut out the clog. I stopped chipping the mulberry because it would clog every 30 seconds or so.As with all small chippers, the branches must be relatively straight and fit into the port. I had no issues with this restriction. I was able to make lots of chips for the garden pretty efficiently in a reasonable amount of time.Now for the zero stars… Within my one year warranty the belt broke. I contacted the manufacturer. I think there is one guy, Rick, who handles everything (or doesn’t). He is often not there, out sick, or getting teeth pulled, or some other reason for not answering the phone or email. Several weeks later he said he would send me a new belt. It appeared that three screws needed to be removed for access, but removal of these screws did not allow me to pull of the cover. I asked Rick for disassembly instructions. After half a dozen phone calls and emails, I was told that he did not have any disassembly instructions and could not tell me how to replace the belt. He sent me the manual that already came with the chipper – that’s all they had. I called again, explaining that this was of no help. Rick offered to ship another top half of the chipper to me. I was asked to send him a reminder via email, which I sent two. Two weeks and several emails later, still no shipment. Rick then told me he now had one he could ship the following week. Two weeks later, no shipment. I finally told Rick I would give him one more week to make good on this product. No response. I finally gave up after more that 6 weeks and went to Home Depot where I purchased the product. I kept a log of all the phone calls, emails, and responses, or lack of. The manager at Home Depot said I really went above and beyond, and agreed to take the product back for a store credit even though it was past the 90 day store return policy. Kudos to Home Depot!!!The final verdict is, the chipper is decent, but if you encounter any problems, Rick will be glad to ignore your issues. Based on non-existent customer service, I cannot fathom purchasing another Aavix product.
