It comes all set up, the only thing it needs is chainsaw oil which disappointingly is not included. The battery only lasts about 20-30 minutes of continuous runtime but TBH that's plenty for an occasional use. If your a pro gardener then you won't even be bothering to look at this as you'll get a petrol one but for people like me who still use it on a single tree here and there this is perfect. I cut the 35cm cherry tree into 5 pieces (4 cuts) plus chopped the branches with it with one battery charge before it died. If you are using it all day get a petrol one, but this is surprisingly good for an occasional use chainsaw. I bought it because I chopped a branch off with a handsaw and the cherry wood was so hard that I decided I needed a chainsaw. It was one of the hardest woods I've ever had to cut and this made it easy (and fun to be honest).

You would have to buy an extra battery.
