The pick is made of plastic. One end has little brush about 1/2 inch long and shaped like a Christmas tree. The other end is pointed with tiny ridges. The whole pick is 2 1/2 inches long. We use these picks daily and I keep some in my purse and car. They're very handy for getting at caught food after a meal or snack. By using them, I've kept my teeth and gums in much better condition.

Q: How do these compare to the more expensive G.U.M. brand?

I haven't used the G.U.M. brand, but I believe Brushpicks work as well as flossing and much easier. I wouldn't want to be without them.

Yes, & it has a slider to open slightly so you can shake a brushpick out. These have a better head than another brand & work much better.

Q: is there any wire in this product?

No...no wire. It is all fine plastic. I was a dental hygienist for 43 years and this is the best interdental cleaning product I have ever used!
