Mrs Darlingtons Damson Jam, 340 g

This jam is very high quality and delicious! Thank you. It arrived very quickly, packaging was well done and it made my mother-in-law very happy, she'd been looking for damson jam for years and said it brought back many fond memories to her.

This damson jam is excellent, and as close to home made as one can get. I recommend it to everyone.

It has too much gelatine in for my liking, I like a sloppier jam.

I have been a prolific jam/curd/preserve maker most of my adult life but have found it increasingly difficult to find damsons over recent years with which to make my husband's most favourite jam. I was so pleased to find Mrs. Darlington's jam on line and the reviews all went to prove I should buy some.Well we're disappointed.it's a well made jam and there is plenty of fruit - and we don't mind the stones but so far haven't found any. But it is lacking the 'zing' of a damson, the tartness which comes with the (perfect for jam making) slightly underripe fruit. We've given it a lot of thought while eating our way through our first jar and have decided that maybe the overriding sweetness overrides too much the real taste of damson. Hence dropping a couple of stars. Sorry it's not for us.
