The 12" and 16 1/4" dimensions are erroneous. **Q: Will a standard size classical guitar fit in the case ?** A: I bought mine for a late 60s Goya T16 which I think was concert size, non cutaway and it fit snug but well. there were good dimensions available at that time **Q: Will my yamaha ac3r cutaway fit in this case?** A: I tried to put my Yamaha 12-string full-sized guitar in the case you are inquiring about and it would not fit. The guitar is longer than the case. My Yamaha classical guitar is a smaller size guitar and it fits perfectly in the case. (Almost.) The padding will likely loosen a little over time, so that's OK. The guitar definitely does not wiggle around at all. I should have bought it when it was cheaper. When I finally decided to buy one it was already $110. It was still a good purchase though. I cringed when I saw how they poorly packed it. They just put the case in a typically thin amazon box without a single cushion but luckily there was not a significant damage. There is a negligible scuff but that was it. My Yamaha FS-TA concert guitar fits perfectly. The padding is thick and provides very good protection. It’s a little heavy in my opinion but I think it’s just because it’s a very sturdy case. The exterior looks very nice you would think it costs more. I am very happy with this purchase and my only regret is not buying it sooner. It wasn't particularly well built and it was way more expensive than my other cases. I took it back and ordered this one and it is awesome! It is very sturdy and the price is incredible for the quality. I gig with it multiple times a week and I very pleased with it, compared to the Roadrunner cases I was using on my other guitars. It seems pretty well sealed, since I don't have to add water too often to the in-case humidifier.
