A useful cleaner for stubborn household stains
Bar Keepers Friend Original Stain Remover is a useful product to have in the cleaning cupboard for jobs that need something more targeted than an everyday surface spray. Stubborn marks on suitable sinks, cookware and other household surfaces can be frustrating, so a dedicated stain-removing cleaner makes sense. The main attraction is the focus on stain removal rather than being another general-purpose cleaning liquid. The bottle is also a convenient format for storing alongside other household cleaning products. With this type of cleaner, quality and performance matter much more than fancy presentation, and the important thing is choosing the correct product for the surface and following the instructions carefully. The only drawback is that it isn't a universal cleaner, so it needs to be kept away from surfaces that aren't listed as suitable. The value is good for a specialist cleaning product intended for those more awkward household jobs. It's a sensible addition to a cleaning cupboard, particularly when ordinary wiping and general cleaning products aren't enough.

Top buy. Will be buying again.
This is a brilliant product. Iโve bought this a few times now. And I will be buying again. Several months ago my wife Janice brought her work colleague Grace home for a cup of tea and some toast as they happened to be passing. Iโd heard of Grace but I was meeting her for the first time. I knew she was a vegan and had significant health issues. Her husband Alan, is a stealth camper. He once camped unnoticed for three weeks on the small roundabout on the local industrial estate. Although Grace found out later heโd been ordering take away meals from the local Indian restaurant. Vegans have a particular smell and most do look quite sickly. They never seem to take a tan. This is true of Grace. Wafer thin and appearing to struggle to carry the weight of her own coat. Absolutely no good in a bar fight. Sheโd be more use as a weapon. Grace went to use our toilet. I can only describe the sounds emanating from the bathroom as like an injured animal calling for help. Occasional loud discharges could be heard coming from various orifices, followed by guttural grunts. Before a thud. Janice and I exchanged worried looks. We feared the worst. Unlike Grace, who feared the wurst. Janice worried for Grace, I was worried for my bathroom. Iโd never allowed a vegan to use my toilet before. And in case you are wondering, yes I always ask. The bathroom was only installed six months ago by Kev our local darts team captain and Craig, his one-armed tiler. It was fascinating to watch Craig get those big tiles on the wall with one arm. He had a 55% success rate, which meant Kev had to buy 50% more tiles than were actually needed. Kev had known him since they were kids and felt quite protective of him. Craig lost his arm when he was seven. He and his dog fell down an old drain and got stuck for six days. His dog ate his arm to survive. To be fair, Craig loved that dog so much he happily gave up his arm. Fortunately they were found before the dog could eat any more of him. After twenty minutes and a period of silence Janice called out to Grace to see if she was ok. No response. I was getting really concerned about my new bathroom. Again no response after some frantic knocking and shouting. Janice asked me to unlock the door. I did so with my eyes closed, partly for Graceโs privacy but mainly to delay the inevitable reality that my bathroom had been damaged by this waif-like quinoa muncher. Poor Grace was lying prone on the floor, kegs around the ankles and out for the count. We organised an ambulance and followed it to the hospital. Grace had had a seizure whilst curling out a hemp rope. We stayed with her for a while and let her family know. Grace went on to make a full recovery. Returning home several hours later I was appalled at the damage to the toilet. The rest of the bathroom was fine. But the toilet was covered in blackness. Not brown. Black! I managed to scrape the largest chunks off with a garden shovel and a hammer and a chisel. But no amount of scrubbing with wire wool would budge the black mess. I can only assume Graceโs main food source was tar. A frantic search of the internet led me to various people praising this product. I was not confident. I really thought Iโd need to call Kev and one-armed Craig. Bar Keepers Friend arrived promptly the next morning. Following the instructions I set about the filthy toilet. I was amazed. I really thought Iโd be in for a long period of scrubbing. But within minutes the dung had gone. I again had a nice clean contemporary toilet bowl. I could once again hide in the toilet from Janice whilst doing my word search. This is an excellent product which can be used on multiple surfaces. Lesson learned; never let a sickly vegan use your toilet. Make them go in the garden. It is best all round

Great product and excellent service
Iโve used Bar Keepers Friend before and knew I wanted to order it again. Itโs brilliant for giving my kitchen sink a really good clean and tackling the marks and grime that build up with everyday use. It saves me having to spend ages scrubbing. The whole order was really well packed and delivery was quick. I also received good updates throughout, so I knew exactly what was happening with my order. Very happy with both the product and the service and I would definitely use this seller again.

Worth a second try
Originally I wasn't keen but after a few goes it really does work, better to make a slurry type cleaner as opposed to drinking as powder but then does great on stainless steel.

Great stain remover and cleaner
Great cleaner and stain remover, so good I have the spray and cream as well as the powder. Removed stubborn stains on kitchen work top and even patio tiles that the power washer struggled to remove

Doesn't quite live up to hype
I guess it cleans fine but it doesn't live up to the promises on the bottle of removing marks, I was hoping it would improve my kitchen sink a lot more.

How did I live without this!
I donโt think Iโve ever wrote an Amazon review but this stuff is AMAZING and everyone should have it. It makes cleaning sooo much easier itโs like magic. We had an orange sink stain from water and I tried everything inc bleach and nothing helped, this took it off instantly! Iโve also cleaned the cooker with it, the shower and it has even got a rust stain off the bathroom floor tiles from tools, which again, Iโve tried everything to get it off, gone!

Fantastic on stainless steel pots and pans
You only need a little bit of this scrubbing powder to bring faded or spotted or even slightly rusted stainless steel pots and pans to their original mirror finish. It contains high amount of oxalic acid (from which it's cleaning "power" is derived), thus it is better to use a glove when scrubbing with this powder and make sure you don't inhale the fine powder. It's best on steel cookware but I've tried it also on a glass, enamel and glazed tiles - it worked really well however it did not elicit the WOW reaction I had when I first tried it on a "hopeless" stainless steel pot. The way you use it depends on the amount of crud/rust/work needed - if you just want to give back the old shine to a generally clean stainless steel pan, then you just put a bit on a wet towel or sponge, smear it lightly on the surface, wait 15-30 seconds, then lightly "buff" with the same towel/sponge, rinse and you are done. If there is a lot of crud, maybe some weird stain along with some rust or you have those pesky little dark spots you could never remove (not even with a steel mesh), then make some paste from the powder in the pot, scrub it all over (if not enough to lightly cover the surface then make more), leave it on for 1-2 minutes, then wipe it off, rinse and you are probably done. Do not leave it for long on any metal surface, as oxalic acid being a pretty strong acid as well as a metal chelator may eat right through metals.
