Open the screen door from the outside, open the front door with the Bow Wow Barrier intact, then close the screen door behind you, open the Bow Wow Barier, and presto! **Q: How wide is the gate when opened?** A: Company is saying 28" - I wanted to be able to keep my front door opened & use the gate to stop the dogs from jumping on the screen door.. we returned it..
