We're having a tough time getting them on cup without spilling. Is there an easy way to do this?** A: Not sure if there is a specific way to put them on but i just stretch it first then try to put it on from the area closets to me and then pull to the other side. These tops combined with simple stainless steel cups though (like these: Stainless Steel Cups for Kids and Toddlers - Set of Four 8 oz BPA Free Cups - by HumanCentric ) fit the bill perfectly. It's easy to use and easy to wash, and my son had no trouble drinking from them. I did have to poke at the holes in the silicone a little bit to get them to open up the first time, but now they open easily and close nicely to be completely spill-proof. ** UPDATE after using these for several months: they do not last forever. After a few months, the lids do develop tears and start to leak. Putting them in the dishwasher seems to hasten the process, so we hand-wash them. But they are inexpensive and if you consider them semi-disposable - kind of like dishwashing gloves - they are still a great product.
