Lennons best work as a solo artist
Loved the digital remix of this great album . The outtake cd is most interesting. Love it .

Raw Lennon
I was an impressionable 13 year old when this was first released. 50 odd years on and it still makes a huge impression. It's not what you'd call easy listening - but it's Lennon at his very best, making a statement. I have nothing to compare it with but this "ultimate" mix sounds pretty damn good to me- really clear, clean and punchy. The overall package is good too, with extensive notes and details of what musicians are on each track. Have yet to listen to the out takes, but if they're half as good as the chosen mixes they'll do for me.

Awesome John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band
I bought the original album when it first came out and l have loved it ever since. Quite simply this is John Lennon's best work. Beautifully remastered and sounds as crisp today as the day it was released. There isn't a weak track on the album and all have deep personal relevance and meaning in JL's life. From the the soaring vocals of Mother and agonised screams to the devastating insight of God, Look at Me, Love, Well well well et al. John Lennon regarded this album as the best work he had ever created. I wouldn't disagree with that. If you don't know this album do yourself a favour and buy this and enjoy with the extra 3 single tracks added and the 2nd CD of outtakes. Genius at work.

Purchase with care
I’m a Beatle fanatic and loved the Original album. But here is a deluxe box where they have managed to spread umpteen versions of the 11 songs plus three Lennon singles over multiple discs and two dvdsI’m not sure how often I will play this. Stick to the two disc version. Most of the key stuff is on there in my opinion.

Lennon was the Beatles
Just a nostalgic purchase for me. I've had the LP since it was first released. Nice to have additional outtakes on a 2nd CD. To me Lennon was the beatles. Amazing voice and such a sadly missed talent.

Solo John's best work
It's not always an easy listen but this is Lennon's finest solo work. It's never sounded better as Sean's curatorship of his father's legacy continues to impress.
