I’ve been through 3 sets of these and people never read the description
These yellow stuff pads are amazing for some canyon runs or for better stopping once you up the power on your car. People in these reviews complain that these pads burn on the track and that’s true. It literally says “FOR LIGHT TRACK USE” these people hit the track hot all day long and complain that the pads suck after some heavy heat. Duh EBC makes blue stuff pads which is FOR THE TRACK. I have used the blue stuff on the track and wow they are a world of difference from yellow but I would never use blue stuff on the road. It’s super loud and wear out fairly quick. The yellow lasts a good amount of time and stops very quickly. But it is NOT A TRACK PAD. If you want to hit the track don’t cheap out and buy the blue stuff ebc pads although they don’t sell them on Amazon in this size pad. My pads have lasted about 6 months each time and this is with constant abuse on them. For the price it’s amazing quality and totally worth it. Keep in mind this is for the NON PP gti size brakes. These pads do produce a good amount of brake dust but my rims always look dirty so whatever. They really have no noise unless you’re at the end of the pad. Cold bite on these are great. Can totally hold up some nice braking power although for 450whp and up builds it is kinda lacking as I have been needing to switch to a 4 piston system. All in all worth the purchase and I’ll be back for more in about 6 months

NOT a pad for the track
Not at all an acceptable track pad. Perhaps will work fine as an autocross pad -- they do have good bite when cold and for the first few times you are heavy on the brakes, they are predictable. As a track pad though, they are terrible: poor heat dissipation and terrible wear. My first set lasted seven hours of track time, with 2 1/2 of that in the rain, and most of it on all-season tires. The second set was more "usual" track conditions, hot track and 200 wear tires on the car. The second set lasted three hours (so not an entire track weekend) and scored the rotors badly enough that I think I will have to replace. If you are going to use these on the track, bring one set for each day, and budget $50/hour for your brake pads. (You won't get much change out of that.) It is difficult to find quality pads for the 312mm rotor on the Mk7 GTI, but Porterfield and Carbotech will cut pads for this car. Spend the extra money up front and you will spend much less over time (and not lose track time due to having to change brake pads in the middle of the weekend.)

A waste of time and money. Crumbled after 2400 miles.
I drive my 2015 VW GTI SE at HPDE track days in CA, and wanted to have higher performance brakes for track use while keeping the car street-friendly for daily use. Unfortunately these pads got glazed and crumbled after just one track day and less than 2400 total miles of street use. Absolutely a waste of time and money, especially since the original stock VW pads worked fine for 3 full track days and over 20,000 miles of normal street driving.I followed the directions to gently break in the EBC pads, and they felt fine on the track, but after the track day they felt soft, like I needed to pump the brakes to get full power. I took them to my mechanic and they had crumbled along the edges, glazed in the middle, and scored the rotors (I'd added new EBC rotors when I had the pads installed) so after only 2400 miles I had to replace the rotors and pads. I replaced this EBC junk with OEM parts, since they'd lasted so well before trying EBC.

Horrible.
I was very skeptical to buys these after ready other reviews. These pads where awful, do not recommend any sort of track time. As a medium pad they crumbled apart with any sort of heat in them. Did not even last two open lapping days. Due to them crumbling apart under heat I now need a new caliper as half the pad fell off and the caliper over extended cause brake fluid to shoot out over hot rotors...
