Whar is the slug used for in the package?

It takes up the space between the new actuator and axel pusher. So put the slug into the opening with the flats facing out then screw the actuator in the axel

Is this the blade or pin connector for the actuator?

I don’t remember. It is to convert the old style thermal actuator to the newer style electric actuator. A good upgrade.

Where does the brown wire go?

I routed mine to the FWD shifter and attached it to the hot wire going to transfer case switch.

Does anyone know the size of the steel slug used in this kit? I wanna make my own and save some money.

The dimensions are .7525" thick, 1.19" wide. These dimensions came from Dorman.
