Great Product
I am very pleased with this book, so far I have the visual companion the official movie guide and the first two chronicles (by Weta) books for "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" movie. The only reason it isn't a 5-STAR review is because you still aren't allowed to see the dragon... Guess I will have to wait for the movie to come out for that.

Great for reference pictures which is why I am buying ...
Great for reference pictures which is why I am buying all of these. These as well the "official" ones have WONDERFUL pictures for cosplay references or fanboying or fangirling.Could all use More Lindir,Elrond,Thranduil, But I might be biased to Elves And Bret McKenzieIf you just like picture books or tolkien,And could ignore the Hobbits fan fiction, These are great!

Happy with my purchase of the 2nd book for the Hobbit movie franchise!
I bought the first Visual Companion for the first movie, Hobbit: An UnexpectedJourney also by Jude Fisher, and enjoyed it so much I felt I needed thecompanion of the 2nd Hobbit movie to complete the set. As usual, loved thestills from the movie, the characters, scenery and very simple explanationsof each that I am quite happy with my purchase.

Beautiful book for those that enjoy the movie
My boys LOVE the Hobbit and want everything Hobbit-related. This book was a perfect gift for them and they spend hours looking through all the detail included in it. I'd highly recommend this for those who enjoy this movie and want more detail on what went in to the visuals behind it.

Loved it!
I ordered this book to get an in-depth description of the characters, especially Tauriel, who is not mentioned in Tolkien's book The Hobbit. The dwarves' relationship to one another is also well explained. The photography is exquisite and brings Middle-earth alive.

Yeah! Hobbits!!!
Another beautiful book about one of my all time favorite movies. The pictures are clear and colorful and the stories interesting. A great book for those collectors of all things Tolkien!

beautiful!
Only 4 stars because there is no Smaug... but the companion is great! Amazing pictures on it, specially The Elves! Love it!

Wanting more!
This book left me wanting to see Desolation. It provided just enough info to give me a sense of where the movie was going to end and what parts of the book were going to be covered.

Lovely companion book to the movie
I bought this for my Hobbit-mad son, he's seen the movie twice in the cinema and wanted this book to enjoy learning more details about the characters and settings. It's full of gorgeous glossy shots from the film and promotional photos. Downside is no photos of Smaug, apart from his eye. Hence my rating of 4 stars. Smaug is truly a magnificent incarnation on the big screen, seems a shame to have not a single shot of him in the book.

Beautiful pictures. A quality guide to the film.
This is a lovely book to read and the images are stunning. A must for any Hobbit and Tolkien enthusiast (like myself) and a foreword by the wonderful actor Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield) who I'm a huge fan of. Brilliant. I am going to get the BOTFA one next.

Visual Companion
A great book - if you paint or model any of the miniatures associated with The Hobbit then this has good pictures so you can check detail of colours etc. If you just loved the film then this has some extra background to characters and is a fun read. For in depth look then try the complete companions.

Great pictures.
Nice quality prints; paper finish is not biro friendly so if you want a calendar to make notes on I would choose a different one. However, as a keepsake for fans this is nice with a great central poster.
