Replacement Remote for Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K & Fire TV Stick Lite, Compatible with Android and Window Devices.(Without Voice Function)

I was a little apprehensive buying this remote after reading the negative reviews but after fiddling with it for about 2 days, I got the additional programmable functions to work.The remote connected immediately when I paired it with firestick (4k & Regular - 3rd Gen) with a damaged remote. However if you have a current remote connected to your firestick you have to either use that to connect your new remote or use the fire TV app to connect this new remote (in the settings area).The hardest part was the volume controls. Programming is easy once you understand you have to use your TV remote to program this remote. The instructions aren't the clearest and it took me a while to realise I had to put the 2 remotes sensors toward each other while programming. All in all, a great buy for the money and it replaces all of the functions of an authentic amazon remote. The only downside is that the orientation of the buttons are slightly different but you get accustomed in no time.

This remote came quickly and works as promised. I was expecting an exact duplicate of the official remote. I was mildly disappointed that the buttons are soft rubber and have a lot of give, but this has no affect on functionality so I still give it full stars. I did need to hit the Amazon reviews for better instructions, though.

Original Firestick remote blew up when a battery exploded inside of it (look it up and don't use that brand of batteries...). Gambled on ordering this one as a replacement. I lost. The remote does not work properly. In order to even connect it I had to download the firestick remote app to my cell phone. Should have just done that in the first place and never bought this remote. The remote will toggle through (down, left, right, or up) until it reaches the last entry in whichever app I may be trying to use. I then press the directional button for it to return to the original position and get the same result. It will finally calm down and instead of toggling through all the entries, it will only do a few... It's a gamble if it will land on the show you want!! So much fun....

The remote WILL control power and volume for a Fire Stick if you program it. The buttons have to be programed to work and you have to have older remote that works. Another reviewer gives the instructions (because the instructions with the remote are not helpful).To program: Hold volume up and power simultaneously and the remote will enter learning mode. Release those buttons when you see it flash. Press the button on the remote you want to program (For example the volume down button) The lights will blink. Using your old remote, point the remotes together head-to-head and touch the volume down button on the old remote. New remote will blink fast, the code is learned. Hold power and volume up on new remote to exit learning mode. Repeat for the rest of the buttons.It's a hassle, but it does work. My bigger concern is that the remote tends to lose its connectivity and I have to go back into the fire stick settings so the stick can find the remote again.Overall.... Yes, it works. Should I have paid the extra $9 for a fire remote? Probably.

I see alot of poor reviews for this remote, I think details and clarification are in order. You must have an original fire remote to pair this from a fully default fire stick. No way around that. If you have an operating fire stick with no remote you must use the fire TV app to pair this replacement remote. No way around that either. If you have another fire TV remote you can unpair it, repair to the unit you working on and then pair the replacement, and finally unpair your borrowed remote to then repair it to its native fire stick.After all that the TV and volume controls must be learned. No waybaround that. Get this replacement remote and the tvs original remote. Yes no way around that. Hold volume up and power simultaneously and the remote will enter learning mode. Release those buttons. Press the button on the replacement you want to learn like power. The lights will blink. Shoot the power ir code from the original remote into the top of the replacement. It will blink fast, the code is learned. Repeat for the rest of the buttons. Then press power and volume up to exit learning. I have tried this on multiple TV makes and models. It works every time. No doubt this takes patience and a little tech chops. If it dosnt work its cuz you did it wrong. What did you expect for $20. Cheers!
