Hard plastic. This material is sometimes used for drains. It's a great product.

Q: can a woman use this easily while sitting in a car or would it spill all over?

I never tried it, but I would guess that it would not work well while sitting in a car. If you could get in the backseat, that would work better.

Q: Any female able to use this conveniently/easily from driver seat in vehicle? Can one pull over and use while seated - did anyone try this?

Cannot help here, we had brought it to use in car if necessary but never did.

Q: For people using this on long roadtrips during pandemic times, where do you usually empty it between uses? Find a bathroom or empty it outside?

Personally, I would empty it outside. The reason I got this was to avoid going to public restrooms during the pandemic. I'm also not going on long road trips though. I had to have something when my husband had surgery and I had to wait in the parking lot of the surgery center for 3 hours on a couple occasions. I didn't want to have to go inside and use the public restroom and wanted something to keep in the car for such situations. At the time, I used the Travel John that I had in the car, but once I used my last one, I knew I'd need something else so I got one of these and more Travel John's.
