What are the dimensions of the snaps in either millimeters or inches?? The size # doesn't mean much to the uninitiated.

Dumb Question -- These look like the "male" (not sure what's its called) part of the snaps. Do I need the "female" part for it to work as a set?

Hi, This pack is a set of 4 which includes the "male" and "female" (snap and holder) parts. It doesn't look like the "female" part is there from the picture, but I bought this set and rest assured they are there. they are actually already snapped together. Because the "female" part doesn't have a solid backing, you can see straight through it to the "male" part that is snapped on. I hope that makes sense.

How large are these snaps - about 3/4 of an inch?

OOPS I meant to say the snaps are 7/8 inch and not 5/8 inch.
