Upgraded old fountain with Solar!
My old fountain's pump stop working after 8 years, I decide to get a new pump and upgrade to solar power. I Tried different pumps that came with a solar panel, water flow was weak or stopped working after a few weeks. My friend recommended this pump kit to me and told me to connect a 10W 12V solar panel to it. It came with a fountain kit for those who are building a new fountain, it’s a nice touch since it has 4 nozzles which allows you to adjust the height and select the spray pattern. However, I have no use for it since I am upgrading my old fountain.Installation was pretty easy. The cable of the pump is very long, which allowed me to install the solar panel away from my little garden. At the end of the cable, there is a short extension cord that can be detached when you unscrew it, I connected the extension cord to the solar panel. (The connector is not designed for standard solar panel, but its clearly labeled with positive and negative tags.)After sunrise, the pump starts pumping the water to around 1-2 feet high and is around 3-4 feet high by noon time. The pump is very quiet, it's almost impossible to hear any sound from the pump when the fountain is running. My friend told me I can hook up a 12V car battery if I want it running at night time. In my case, when the sun goes down, I don't really need the fountain on. It works around 8 hrs during the day which is good enough for me. Now I don't have to worry about turning off my pump while I sleep or out of town. I can just leave it and forget about it since it runs off of free/green energy. It has been running for few days now and I don’t see any sign of failure. It should be a solid solution for those who wants to replace their old fountain or upgrade their old fountain to solar and save some electricity cost like me.Pros:Long power cableQuietCome with fountain kitDetachable extension cableI’m giving this pump a 5 star because it's a perfect for me, although I have to mention the plastic cover on the pump is not that great. But i don't care...

Battery works at night as promised
Still works and battery is good enough to run my small fountain after the sun goes down, I found out many of these solar fountains turn off as soon as the sun goes down but not this one

Low energy usage and great performer.
The media could not be loaded. It's really important to read the supplied flow charts and to understand what you solar system is capable of. Mine is running on a 100 watt panel that's connected to a 12 volt lawnmower battery. Actual flow rate is closer to 600gph at 12v.It keeps running 24hrs solid. Pump max voltage is listed at 18v which if I hook directly to solar panel will give me maximum flow rate, but then I lose night coverage. For me this is more than enough.

Great powerful little pond pump
It took me a bit to get it up and running because the connections to my solar panel, battery and pump all had different connections but once up and running the flow rate is impressive for such a small inexpensive pump and so far the durability exceeds my expectations for the price. Overall a great value.

Worked Until It Didn't
I looked for a long time to find a solar water pump fountain with lights that fit my needs. I was so excited to find this. When I got it and set it up, it was perfect. The solar panel fed the battery back-up and this allowed the light and fountain to work several hours into the night. The adjustable water height doesn't work as well, it was either up or not, didn't seem to have a great in between. Unfortunately, it quit working completely about 6 weeks after I started using it. Checked all of the connections, made sure the pump was not clogged. All seem fine. The solar panel does not feed the batter back-up at all. So disappointed! This is not an inexpensive item and now it doesn't work at all.

Didn’t last 20,000 hours, but the best GPH for a DC Pond Pump
Great pump while it ran. Listing states “24/7 operation for more than 20000 hours” but it only lasted about 13,700 hours (about 1 year and 7 months). It does have the highest GPH on the market for DC pumps. I tried calling and emailing the manufacturer multiple times, but they didn’t respond nor answer the phone so I’m not sure how they are with honoring their warranty.

Works great
The media could not be loaded. Day 1, easy set up. After I laid the pecs a put in a flexible hose from pump to the pecs I plug it in to the panel and it works great. I was worried about head pressure but my worries were needless it works great.
