Put it on a basic cot and it works well for side and back sleeping. I am a side sleeper and it's the best I've used so far. Surprisingly thick compared to others. Have not tried it directly on the ground but with it's thickness I think it would be ok.Blows up and packs up pretty easily. Packs light and compact. Does take a little while to pump it up using hands, but is not too bad. Would recommend to friend for no less than 40 degrees. I did get the wider version, would not recommend the smaller as my 24" wide version is just about as narrow as I would want to sleep on comfortably. Have used this several times now and it holds air fine all night long.UPDATE: I have used this several trips and it is holding up fine and is still comfy. My original comments still hold true, this is not a cold weather sleeping pad. Something not mentioned in the other reviews is the noise it makes when you move around on it. I was in Death Valley last weekend and we were spread out in our tents by several yards. People in tents 20' plus away from me said they could hear me when I would roll over. It is a minor gripe, but if you have a couple of these in the same tent and are a light sleeper I could see this being an issue. Filling up using the built in pump feels like you are giving CPR for a few minutes, It does get the blood moving..... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really good for an inexpensive pad *by A***D on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on May 8, 2017* I camp a LOT with my Boy Scout troop, and have worn out three much more expensive sleeping pads over the years, I wanted to buy a less expensive one for month-to-month camping and save the pricey ones for outings where I need lower weight (say, at Philmont). After using this pad for six months, I can say that it's really an excellent pad for normal camping events. The built-in foot pump is surprisingly effective and *much* easier than inflating orally.I'm a big guy (6'4", 230 lbs) and have no problem with the length or width of this pad. Not sure why others are having a hard time with it. Also for people saying it's not comfortable, a piece of advice: don't inflate it all the way. Most air pads need to be deflated a bit. I orient the thing so the valves are by my head so I can reach them easily, lie down on the pad and release air until it gets soft and squishy...It's totally comfortable this way.The only thing I don't like about this pad is the size and weight. My backpacking pad is about half the volume and a quarter of the weight...but it's also a lot less durable.All in all, this pad is an excellent value.
