Ghoststrike Fixed Blade Knife

I really have been impressed with this knife. Sharp, durable, well thought out sheath design. It checks all the boxes for EDC. (Check your local laws of course) Initial quality is great, and I've come to expect that with Gerber. Especially on their higher end products. I think this knife was out of production for awhile, it was impossible to find. If you've been looking for one, jump on this! Good product!

So, to begin with, I'm not some tactical guy or an expert of wielding a knife nor been in knife fights to truly have a grasp of things. I can just share my personal views of this knife and how I utilize it. I've carried this for quite a lengthy time now and so this is my experience. Firstly, I do use one of those little quick release belts, but it's a lightweight one, so that's reference of what belt I use with this. I carry this knife horizontally on the belt since for me, it's the most concealment possible and the best fit. I use to carry scout style, which is directly in the middle of the back, however, I find it much more concealing when you carry to just the left of your belt buckle and have a slight cross draw with it. Now, I work full time while carrying this at a bakery. So, I wear the black belt with black pants normally, and then a white shirt and sometimes chef coat over that. I can say that this thing is extremely convenient when it comes to concealment for how I carry it. Even if I had my shirt tucked in, you can't see the sheath there - and if you did, you'd think it was part of the belt. That's how concealed it is for me personally. Like I mentioned previously, I carry this with me to a full time job and I've had it with me for a very long time now. I'm very picky about what's in my pockets or person since I'm moving around all night at work. With this being on the belt, I literally forget I have it usually but, I will say that having this does give me a sense of personal security. The blade is only 3.4 inches, so it's not that large, however, it's a great option to have a little shank just for a little security, or at least mindset. It's not as if we're knife fighters here in the reviews and going to infiltrate some building with bad guys while using this knife on some stealth mission, no. So, with that said, I'd definitely recommend this due to it being lightweight, concealability is even better than a folding knife in the pocket for me, and it's a fixed place so it's an incredibly fast draw once you practice. I don't use this knife as a box cutter or literally anything else. I keep it razor sharp and sheathed for defense only. I think with this kind of idea and knife, it's really meant for that kind of application. Pulling this thing out in front of people, they'd probably think you're silly to use such a weapon for some boxes or something. It's hard to not want to showcase this knife, trust me, but I love the stealth aspect of it. I will make note of the snug fit that the blade has with the sheath, it's quite snug. However, I like how it's a snug fit since I'm carrying this externally on my belt, I don't want any wobble or way of this thing popping out and losing my blade. That's me personally. I've practiced enough with this to understand how to draw it fast with it being snug, so I'm sure you could too.

I was hesitant to buy after reading so many negative reviews about it dulling quickly. It's true it does but not to an unusable level. You have to remember the steel type also. It's inexpensive steel that won't hold an edge for very long but your can sharpen it really easily. I got mine sharper than when I bought it. For the price there's not much else on the market for what this is. The holster is small and sturdy. The knife conceals well though I wish the holster tucked in the handle closer to the belt line. I get why they didn't, it makes it easier to grab, but it's not something worth losing a star over. I bought mine for camping, but don't forget to look up your local city and state laws

Over the summer I was busy with ROTC, Army Guard, fishing, and camping. I wanted a companion to aid me in whatever I was doing. Before this summer began I purchased the Ghoststrike Fixed Blade, made by Gerber, to be that companion. I wanted a small fixed blade to help me with all of my activities. Before I purchased this knife I had to identify what I wanted the knife for and what qualities best support how I wanted to use it. I wanted to use this knife to cut cord, the occasional MRE package, and whittle the occasional stick. I also wanted to be able to carry this knife virtually everywhere. Just like my grandparents used to do with their small pocket knives. My knife had to be in accordance with Iowa’s weapons restrictions laws Code § 724. The applicable rules are; the blade has to be under 5”(doesn’t discriminate between fixed blade or folding); the knife cannot be a dagger; and the knife cannot be ballistic. Fortunately, Iowa State’s campus rules are the same. I only ever carry it to ROTC, to National Guard drill, Boy Scouts, and whenever I’m outdoors. Let’s talk about the product itself. It’s a small knife that’s blade is 3.3” long, overall length of 6.9”, has a drop point blade, made of 420HC steel with a ceramic coating, and a lanyard hole for the person who needs to tie it down. The sheath is made of Kydex; which means the knife is held in place by the positive pressure created by the plastic sheath. I wanted something that could do daily field tasks and not be cumbersome. The 3.3” blade fit that criteria perfectly. A stainless steel blade with corrosion resistance is appreciated after being in the muck all day and hardly having time to maintain my gear. The 420HC(high carbon) steel may not hold an edge for a long period of time but I alright with that. It will stay sharp enough for the work I’ll put through it; it’s not like I’m cook, constantly cutting. I am very pleased with the Kydex sheath. I don’t have to worry about my blade falling out or whether it’s been buckled in properly. I’ve cut through and torn leather and plastic sheaths. By no means do I imply that this is a perfect knife. I have a few misgivings about it, first of all, its handle. The plastic diamond patterned coating over the handle is falling apart. I’ve only owned the product for a few months and I find it annoying. Hopefully, some electrical tape can remedy it. The other issue I have with it is that the ball bearing in the sheath tend to rub against the edge of the blade nearest to the handle. I never use that part of the blade but I cringe every time I place the knife away. Knowing that my blade is getting duller every time. If you believe that this knife fits your needs and choose to purchase the Ghoststrike Fixed Blade, it will cost you between $37-$45. Which is a decent price for a blade that offers so many qualities. That include ergonomics and a decent product.

This is a fine knife. It comes with a good edge, and is easy to hone. I've read other reviews saying the rubberized grip surface can wear off. So far, I've not experienced that even though I wear it frequently. In fact, I'm quite happy with the grip design. I have large hands, but can still grasp this smallish knife securely. The only drawback so far is the lack of a stealth-mode. It rattles a bit in the sheath. But the sheath does provide a secure fit. I wear it horizontal, and I have no fear of it falling out. But, as others have said, it IS small. This is not one you use for skinning a buck or butchering meat. It's designed to hide well and be drawn quickly in the event of an emergency. It's quite suitable for that purpose. I do think it's a bit pricey for the amount of steel used. You can buy a huge Buck brand knife for less. But I'm sure a lot of r&d went into the design. So, overall, worth it.

Perfect fit for me. I wanted a horizontal sheath to be worn on my belt. Stay nicely right up against my back. Can comfortably sit in a chair and not dig into me. It is big enough to be personal protection but not bulky and cumbersome that it can't be concealed. While backpacking in Europe I found I can wear it on my belt in the front and still be able to wear my pack and get to it easily. The shelf is designed to be worn as a lefty or a rightly and you can sheath it with blade up or down. The handle has a rubberized coating for grip which allows you a solid hold. I have extra large hands so when I grab the knife to sheath it I get about two fingers and my thumb on the handle but it works. the knife locks firmly in the sheath. I don't ever worry about it falling out. Amazing job Gerber!

Let me just say WOW... this is a knife i would recommend to anyone who wants a little bit of protection. When people need a knife with low profile this is it!!! the knife is well built and doesn't feel like it would break the first couple times you use it or get dull. The sheath its self is just as amazing as the knife tho when you first get it you do need so practice removing the blade from it if you are planing on wearing it on your belt. so a little tip is have the sheath place next to your belt loop so when you do grab for the knife it doesn't slide. I love how you can choose how to where it on the belt as well you can where it vertical or horizontal. It is really comfy both ways the only thing I can be picky at is when you have the knife in the sheath in the vertical angle when you pull the knife it is firmly locked in the sheath so it tends to pull your pants up and give you a wedgey but sure that its just cuz I'm a bit skinner guy but other than that the knife is amazing. for people who are also into throwing knifes this knife can easily become one but not recommended yet it can be throwable with practice. If your looking at any other knifes stop and just purchase this one first!!! Sadly i lost it a few months after owning it. let someone barrow it and now i don't have it.

Bought this because I saw a friend had recently purchased one and I was entrigued by the blade/handle and the sheath. I wear it everyday on my belt at my lower back and forget it’s ever there never snags on anything or gets in the way. The blade is very securely held in place with no worries of falling out on its own. If you’re looking for a discreet knives this is the one. Now with the handle it’s a rubberized material feels great and looks good but does not last at all. I tore it off and replaced it with 550 cord. Now I have a knife and about a foot of 550 cord if ever need be.

Sehr schönes und leichtes EDC Messer. Wurde scharf geliefert. Die Messerscheide mit der anpassbaren Halterungen ist gelungen. Das Messer kann beidseitig eingeführt werden. Ich habe noch etwas Paracord angebracht, dadurch liegt es noch besser in der Hand.

Très bon couteau squelette d une super qualité ! Fabriqué en Oregon aux états unis ! Avec gerber jamais decus! ( sauf la ligne bear grylls qui elle est fabriquée en Chine )

Love this little knife, especially the horizontal sheath. Which can hold the knife either way you sheath it. Meaning blade facing up or down. Screws can be removed if you prefer a vertical sheath. Haven't figured out how I could put in on tactical suspenders for quick shoulder deployment . One more thing the handle has a soft rubberized grip. More comfortable than I thought. I wont be adding hockey tape to handle on this one

Me pone en dudas de que se original debido a la forma del empaque además de solo venir con el cuchillo y la funda kydex, hizo falta la tobillera, posiblemente se deba a una presentación distinta. En cuchillo en general se vee bien, vino fin filo. Cómo un producto para llevar diario y tareas sencillas puede ser de utilidad.
