It does, however some does leak through. I love pulp, it gives the drink a little more kick. This is a great juicer, it is much like the one my grandmother had in her little restaurant. It is worth the buy.

Q: Q to fch-direct - can you confirm that all stainless steel looking parts are ss? the cup that presses down looks and feels aluminum to me.

The cup is most certainly aluminum, as the replacement parts state it is aluminum. This is a HUGE problem as mine is tarnished beyond usability, I can literally wipe off gray aluminum "dust" with a wet paper towel all day long and the entire towel is dark gray afterwards. Wait 2 min for it to dry, and you can do it again and again and again. Once it starts and gets to this point (mine took 7 years), it never stops. The only recourse is to replace the cone at $35. This is the #1 problem with these style juicers, especially commercial juicers even - the cone that puts the pressure on the fruit is always aluminum but it MUST be stainless steel in order to last. I have a $120 Focus commercial juicer which is useless because of the cone tarnishing due to the acids in the juices. Note that this product description doesn't note Aluminum anywhere - this is deceptive on purpose in my opinion as it is one of the largest pieces of metal on the entire unit and it actually touches the food you eat.

Q: if I deseed the pomegranates, can I place the seeds in this juicer and will it work with just the pom seeds?

It’s designed for pomegranates cut in half. You could place the seeds on the strainer, but it would be more difficult than simply using it as designed.
