Perfect For Our A1706 MacBook Pro
Our daughter's screen went kaput on her old MacBook Pro A1706 (got it in 2018), so I got this screen this week to replace it. As of 7-29-23 (a day after I replaced) it works just fine. My daughter says she doesn't notice any difference in brightness, but then again it's been at least a year and a half since she has used it (it was college final paper/final exam time and she needed a quick replacement so we got her a new McB P). So I'm happy with it and will update this review if it underperforms.TIPS:There's an outstanding YouTube video by UberGeeks that walks you step by step on the screen replacement for the A1706. I took my time and replaced the screen in under 2 hours. One thing - this screen comes with every torx and pentalobe bit you will need to get the job done-what a pleasant surprise. I had ordered an IFIXIT kit but the screen came before the kit arrived so I went ahead and replaced it with the tools that were provided. Another thing - people tend to complain about stripping screws with the tools they use and they blame the tools. If the screen has not been replaced before keep in mind that Apple over-torques some of its screws. If the screw doesn't budge with reasonable force, don't just keep turning the screwdriver. For several screws I had to press really - REALLY - hard down on the top of the screw driver with one hand while turning the screw driver very slowly with the other until the screw broke free. If you have ever used an impact screwdriver you will get the idea. I probably should have had a pair of plyers to make turning the screw driver easier but I was able to break all the screws free without it and without stripping them. One screw had me worried because it wouldn't budge and the screw bit spun a few times wearing it a little. But again, pressing really really hard down on the screwdriver and turning it incrementally was what broke it free for me.

Awful Screen
I have been replacing screens for along time, over 25 years. I have replaced countless MacBook screens as I own a computer repair company. This screen, being less than 6 months old, not only has bright pixels missing all over, and dead pixels, but the glass on the front doesn't even feel like a normal screen. It almost feels like there is no top glass, and only the LCD Digitizer is present. I replaced a screen in my clients computer in April of 2024, and within 5 months it has deteriorated to the point that if it had been like this when I got it, I would've returned it immediately. The missing pixels multiply daily, and as the pictures show, they are in the middle of the screen, and at the bottom of the screen. This screen is the WORST quality screen I have ever seen. I do not recommend this company to anyone. If they can make one screen this bad, who knows how many others are this poorly made. And they say a 3 month warranty, but on their site it is a 180 day warranty. Most consumer electronics come with a standard 1 year warranty. In the EU, the warranty is 3 years. I can clearly see why this company only says they offer a 3 month warranty.....that is how long they know it will last; no more, no less. Buy any other brand for the same price if not cheaper. Stay away from this screen!

Good replacement
I was hesitant at first but decided to give it a try and I was very pleased with the whole process. The screen replacement is good quality and saved me a lot of money from going in to have it fixed by someone else or just buying a whole new laptop. The only thing I noticed that is different from the original screen is the Apple logo, on this product it’s more of like a black reflective plastic while on the original screen it’s a mirror. To be honest that little part is not even noticeable so it really doesn’t matter. I fixed my screen about a month ago and have no problems. VERY pleased with this product and would recommend anyone to purchase this replacement to fix their screens. JUST BE SURE TO FOLLOW A YOUTUBE VIDEO IF YOU ARE DOING IT YOUR SELF (follow instructions it comes with too)

As good or better than original
This was tedious to replace but with the right tools (easily obtained from Amazon) and a couple YouTube videos, it was easily replaced and works perfectly. Packaged very well and perfect fit. The Apple symbol on top of the outer case does not light up but I don’t care about that anyway. It is very crisp picture so far.

For far, so good
It's been about a month since replacing my broken screen with this new one. It's clearly a refurb but no real issue other than a small light leak on the right lower area around the screen which is fine because my computer is 4.5 years old and isn't going to be in perfect external condition. My only concern is that it might eventually have flexgate issues but I'll cross that bridge if I get to it. Anyways, it's good enough to keep my laptop going for now.BTW install is easy enough with tutorials online but you will need screw drivers that aren't included with the suggested tool kit from amazon. If you don't have one already, make sure you have a torque 3 screw driver.

Good replacement that passes Hardware Tests as well
Solid monitor replacement, so far no issues, and the Apple Hardware Diagnostics passed all tests, and resolution was correct. Been a week since installed on my 2015 MacBook Air. Everything aligned properly and WiFi functions. Used iFixit video to explain how to install. I would Highly recommend the Teckman 9in1 MacBook Repair kit along with this, since many MacBook screwdriver kits don't have the T8 T5 and P5 in them. Monitor colors are slightly different than original, and it is like 10% less bright. However, Apple quoted $400 plus for the replacement, so well worth it.

Non-functioning part cost me almost $400
I ordered this replacement screen for my macbook pro. I wanted to make sure that the repair was done right , so I hired a professional computer technician to replace the screen. After 4 hours of trying to get the screen to work he determined that it was a non-functioning part (the old screen worked, it was just cracked so it had to be the screen and not the computer). Since it was the fault of the part and not the technician I was still liable for the repair and paid $400. So I still have a cracked screen and am out $400 as a result of this part.
