Good Track Saw Blade
In bought this blade to use with a Makita SP6000 track saw hoping it would work well cutting melamine. The Makita blade the saw came with was badly chipping the underside of the melamine. The top side cut well when the saw's shallow topside pre-cut feature was used. I know others have stated that the saw's provided Makita blades cut well but the one I received didn't. It chipped with the first cut it made. Perhaps it was just badly sharpened but it would not work well for me. I started looking for a replacement. In my search I came across this Tenryu blade. Some recommended it while others did not. I emailed the manufacturer and asked their opinion. Oddly, they did not recommend it for the Makita SP6000. I guessed, and it was later confirmed, that their lack of a recommendation was due to the Makita saw's ability to mount a slightly larger blade than do the Festool saws for which this blade is intended. Since the Tenryu blade was not all that expensive I decided to give it a try in spite of the naysayers. I recommend it.Although the Tenryu blade is slightly smaller that the saw will accommodate, the top-side pre-cut feature still works although it cuts a bit shallow and if your wood is not flat it may miss a few spots. I found that pressing down a bit on the saw would fix this. The blade lines up perfectly with the edge of the track and cut like a dream. Also, the Makita blade left some burn marks on the melamine which the Tenryu blade does not do.I can't compare the Tenryu blade to a Festool blade as I don't buy Festool. I think their products are a bit overpriced. I don't have any experience with other brands of track saws but I would think this blade would work well with any of them.I sharpen my own saw blades so, when I get around to it, I'll have a go at resharpening the Makita blade to see if I can get it to cut better. When I'm cutting something other than melamine I may also try it again.I hope all this helps someone.

excellent performance and value
I needed this for cutting melamine sheets of 3/4" particle board. I used a ts55 Festool tracksaw. The bottom of the cut was flawless. Zero chipping. The top was 95% as good as the bottom. It had barely detectible tearout. This blade for the money vs. the festool blade is a great value for the performance.

not so good for melamine which it is marketed for - VERY OVERHYPED
cutting Melamine for a few days - not so good more and more chips even when tapedalso this has some weird smaller offset so your splinterguards will get cut more than by festool bladesI think I will return it
