It may be worn over any EltaMD moisturizer such as Barrier Renewal Complex or oil-free AM Therapy. **Q: Whats the purpose of a tinted sunscreen?** A: The original purpose of tinted sunscreens was to tint the white minerals to blend better with skin. The reason this doesn't come in multiple tints is that its not intended to replace a foundation but rather just make minerals easier to blend into skin--any skin. its lighter than many skin tones, but still darker than the white color of minerals. Having said that, with my moderately light white skintone, this does help blur imperfections and cover some redness, so I find I dont need foundation after using it. **Q: Are their different tint colors?** A: No. Just lightly tinted. **Q: Will this stain clothing? I'd like to put it on my upper chest/neck.** A: Yes, it does. I try and wear dark colored clothing when I wear this sunscreen to keep it from showing. Most of the times I can get the sunscreen stain out when I scrub the clothing with Fels Naptha or something like that. Best tinted sweat resistant sunscreen out there and beleive me. I've tried many. It's difficult to find a brand without the harsh chemicals and even Elta MD has some options that include those chemicals but this one seems to be the lesser of evils. It has remained a staple in my skin protection regimen. I have Albinism, dry skin due to sebhorric dermatitis and in general very sensitive skin. I've tried many other brands includong Sunbum mineral tinted face, which was not the correct pigment and rubbed off very easily. This is the one I come back to again and again. I use it at the beach and when I go hiking in the mountains. It can cause increased dryness which is why I ventured elsewhere for a bit but ended coming back to it because nothing else compared to the sweat/water resistance, the ease of application, the pigment and honestly, the coverage- like others have stated, it does seem to cover blemishes very well. **Tip - I started applying a moisturizer before applying the sunscreen and then again at night after I've washed my face which seems to buffer the dryness. I wore this every day for 10 days hiking in Italy and my face didnt react until I finished the trek, which is impressive! You need to use a more hardcore moisturizer though, such as the Clinique 100H moisture surge!Also I want to point out that becauae I have Albinism and do not tan at all, I am living proof that this sunscreen works. I dont think people realize how often you actually need to apply sunscreen. It's not a one and done thing. Read the label, do your research and protect your skin! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good physical sunblock lotion *by on Reviewed in the United States July 27, 2026* I really like this physical sun block lotion. It definitely has a slight tint to it. Since it is summer time, I probably should have gotten the medium tint instead of the lighter one, but other than trying to figure out which color is best it works very well. It was recommended to me that I put a regular moisturizer on first, let that dry, then put this physical sunblock on next and let that dry 5 minutes. At that point you can just not put any more makeup on, but if I'm going out someplace where I want to dress up, I will put a foundation on top of that.
