My 8 year old joined the chess team this year and I wanted him to have a board he could use at home. This checks all the boxes I was looking for. It folds out flat as a board with nothing scratching the table. The pieces stick to the board nicely so they don’t move when he bumps it. The storage is great. It has extra queens. The pieces look nice and are of a perfectly acceptable quality for my needs. Board looks nice and has a leather-ish feel. No complaints.

Soft leather finish and all pieces worked great with the magnets. I love that I can travel easily with it. I also love that it has the coordinates on the board which makes it easy for beginners to learn the square names.

This review is for the 15" version of the Bucher&Rossini Leather Chess set. This has been a very high quality, very beautiful chess set. I love everything about this; the way it looks, the feel of the board and pieces, the way the magnets work so well. I got this because I sometimes play on our leather couch which may puncture using a wooden chess board with sharp corners. This is terrific! Customer service has been even better than the product itself as I reached out to inquire about additional Queen pieces. I love the 15" size and heft; you just get a very high quality feel on this board. I have bough a few different kinds of chess boards here on Amazon, and so have my friends. When we get together, THIS is by far the best board; the rest are not even close. Strongly recommended! There is not a better board at any price range here on Amazon.

Very good chess board, smooth, easy to pack, like the magnets and everything else!

My son got into playing chess and this was perfect. It's all leather with a snap closure and cut foam to store each piece in its proper place. The pieces and board are slightly magnetized so everything stays put if you're playing on the road or the board gets bumped. Some of the pieces look a bit rough as far as wood carving is concerned. The horse's eyes are manic. Despite that, it's perfect!

Very high quality; the leather feels good to touch; strong magnets hold up all the pieces even when the board is upside down. I put the string across the foam to make it easier to get pieces out. I love it. Highly recommend this set!

This is the coolest chess board. Leather, magnetic, very aesthetically and tactilely pleasing. It was a gift for my wife but I've been using it a lot more haha

I ordered this chess set as a gift for my great-grandson's 10th birthday. He is a "beginner" but already plays very well and is capable of winning against adult players. The set arrived about 2 days after the order was submitted, but both queens were missing and all the other pieces were loose in the storage compartment. I immediately communicated with the seller about the missing queens, expecting to receive 2 queens. Instead, within 48 hours, I received a brand new complete chess set. I could not be happier with the customer service response of this seller. The chess set itself is beautiful! My great-grandson loves it. It was the perfect birthday gift.
