Life Extension Inositol 1000mg Vegetarian Capsules, 360-Count

This stuff is a miracle for those suffering from OCD, Pure-O (Obsessions without Compulsions), and a just worrying mind. I suspect more people in the OCD community are not raving about this more because the effect is subtle and it takes time to find the right dosage. I tried inositol many times before I realized how well it worked and that you have to tweak the dosage until you obtain the desired result. I think many people are used to the more heavy drug feeling associated with SSRIs and other pharmaceuticals for ocd, so it takes a while to notice inositol. The only side effects I have experienced with inositol are gas and loose stools in the beginning but that diminishes after a while.There is a fair amount of research on inositol and OCD and the dosage used in those trials was high at 18 grams per day. I have found success at only 6 grams per day which is 6 of the Life Extension pills. I usually take 3 at breakfast and 3 at lunch.I know the suffering of OCD and I encourage people to give inositol a trial (or even several). Be scientific about it and try it for 6-8weeks and keep increasing your dosage until you see a result. Start with a good brand like Life Extension. As an added benefit, I also experienced a decrease in anxiety and anger which is really great.Good luck to all!

I started taking Inositol about 2 and a half months ago. I started at 2g in morning and 2g at night and worked my way up and experimented with dosages until now I take 6g in the morning and up to 3g more throughout the day/night if I feel like it. I read about inositol helping with anxiety and social anxiety specifically and decided to give it a try. To my surprise it actually seems to be working great for me... I've noticed I typically feel more relaxed and I am more sociable in situations where I'd usually be shy and speechless. I don't over-think and confuse myself as much when expressing myself to others. The 360-1000mg bottle is awesome and cost efficient for my use and I will continue to purchase this as long as I feel that Inositol is positively contributing to my life.

Talk about calm and stabilized mood. This stuff is incredible. I take 12g per day and it does wonders.It took about a month to really get in my system and notice the full effects, but I love it. I take it in combination with choline, but the desired doage of choline is significantly less, so I take them in separate pills. These capsules are a little on the larger size, but not too big to swallow. There is no smell or flavor. As I have gotten used to these, my need for the extra PRN doses of xanax during the day have become virtually non-existent. It's fabulous. I also have Risperdal available for use on an as needed basis during the day, and I've found I really don't need those any more either. Before taking this I was needing both twice a day every day just to function. My anxiety and bipolar are both quite severe. Now they are both under control and I feel normal. My head also feels very clear and I can think right. This comes in really handy since I am a freelancer, and if I cant think straight, I can't work, which means no paycheck. This has been a lifesaver.There is only one inactive ingredient, so no unnecessary fillers. Just the inositol. Get exactly what you need, and nothing you don't.

Heads up, you need to ease into the dosage. I jumped right in at 4g and ended up feeling drunk for almost 2 weeks before my body got used to it. I haven't noticed that it's really helped my PCOS yet, but it definitely has improved my mood.

I would recommend Inositol to anyone suffering from anxiety or panic disorders. Very helpful and of course a natural alternative to pharma's solution. Life Extension Inositol is a huge bottle so I am not buying lots of little bottles. The price is okay though I would have to say the price is higher now so that wasn't so great. But I love the product!

My naturopath recommended this to me when I was diagnosed with Raynaud's Disease, and I began taking 3,000 mg per day (one capsule, 3x daily with meals) with the blessing of my vascular surgeon. Even though I have "pretty much the worst case" that my vascular surgeon has ever seen, these Inositol Caps cured me of the pain in my fingers and toes within a month.
