Rubbish Battery!
When it was working it did a really good job of flossing, however straight after my second charge (yes I followed the instructions and only charged it for 3-4 hours and not more than that), the battery run out halfway during flossing. This is unacceptable especially for a product of this price point.

Easy To Use But Messy
After suffering from sore gums for a couple of weeks, I visited the dentist to ensure that there was nothing more sinister and went through a thorough cleaning process which included flossing, pre-brush with a small head and a full brush. She asked if I had ever used a water flosser which I hadn't and she explained how, in addition to cleaning between each tooth, the water flosser gets into the harder to reach areas and even under the gum.I chose the Waterpick after reading the reviews and was a little sceptical before use as the gum area was sore. I charged it thoroughly for the recommended 10 hours, filled it with warm water and Listerine before selecting the lowest setting and leaning over the sink to use. It does take a little time to get used to as you cannot physically see where the water jet is going (unless your sink is mirror lined); however, the relief I experienced from the warm water which was effective in removing food debris from under the gums was evident after just a couple of days.I now use the Waterpick flosser after every meal, it takes less than 2 minutes and I have not suffered from gum pain since. I highly recommended product.

Back to Normal
having been pleased with it, I had the same problem charging as other people have had, so I called Waterpik service they said to reset it by holding the mode button down for 10 seconds then charge for six hours, this I am pleased to say this seems to have sorted it out :) so pleased that it is doing a great job of keeping my gums and implants clean.

Poor battery life.
Good idea but the battery charge only lasts for approximately 30 seconds on full power. Hardly enough time to get around your mouth efficiently. Needs to be charged after very use which is really inconvenient. As an orthodontist I like the idea but would probably go back to the Air Flosser.

Great, but somewhat cumbersome
An excellent device, backed up by many high quality medical studies and research articles. I did some research on its claims, as I cynically anticipated it being a heavily asterisked claim backed up by smallprint as vague as “5.5 out of ten users reported”; but no, this device and its potential benefits seems to have been studied extensively. My anecdotal experience is that, as a former smoker I used to suffer bleeding gums almost daily while and after brushing despite using a powerful electric toothbrush and chlorhexidine based mouthwashes and toothpastes. After even a week of once daily use with this, my bleeding had subsided significantly; and in the subsequent weeks the bleeding stopped entirely. My mouth feels so much cleaner, too, generally! The sensation of using the device is likely to be unusual or uncomfortable to begin with, but you soon get used to it; the initial discomfort highly outweighed by its proven dental benefits and a definitely smoother and cleaner mouthfeel after use.I have not had any issues with the battery life, or the power output being weak; I use it on its highest setting and putting a finger tip near the jet, it feels like a physical object almost pricking the finger. The only thing I would say is I would have appreciated a larger water tank; as the device in my opinion isn’t very portable as it is, being far larger than an electric toothbrush or something of that nature, and is unlikely to go travelling with me. I think the product designer should have considered that and added a larger water tank (even 1.5x the capacity it is) given that it certainly isn’t even massively portable in its current state. I feel that would have been a worthwhile design compromise, as in its current form I either have to be very swift with my usage or refill the tank once while using it thoroughly (front and back of all teeth gaps and gums) on the high power setting. Not a big deal, but I think would have been easily rectified and would benefit from sacrificing its “portability” for a greater capacity. The issues people seem to have with not being able to see the controls or light displays while using it I couldn’t really agree with, as you can very easily rotate the head of the device a full 360 degrees, which means when using it in the mirror I can clearly see the setting I’m on and the battery indicator lights while I’m using it.I purchased a second one for my partner, and two of my work colleagues also purchased after one my recommendation and also only have positive things to say about the Waterpik.Perhaps I would have thought twice at its original retail price, but I’m really glad I picked (Piked?) this up at a discounted price during a lightning deal.+ Easy to use+ Powerful water jet+ Very clean teeth and gums, post use+ Clinical/medical research backs up its claims+ Sturdy device+ Great add on accessories+ Decent battery life- Not in my opinion very portable at all, other than from room to room in the house- Quite cumbersome, might not suit older people or those with upper body strength impairments- Low capacity water tank
